For too long I stayed in a relationship with a narcissistic alcoholic who tore me down, manipulated my reality, and left me questioning my own worth. The gaslighting, the cycles of chaos, the constant walking on eggshells… it was exhausting. But today I stand taller, stronger, and finally at peace. The hardest battle wasn’t leaving him. It was forgiving myself. I carried so much guilt and shame, wondering why I stayed, why I didn’t acknowledge the red flags sooner, why I let someone treat me that way. The weight of self-blame was crushing. But the moment I truly gave myself grace, the moment I looked in the mirror and said, “You did the best you could with what you knew at the time, and you survived” the burden finally lifted. I forgave myself for the version of me who loved too hard, hoped too long, and believed change was possible. That forgiveness didn’t erase the pain, but it freed me from carrying it alone. I’m healing now. I’m choosing peace over chaos. I’m prioritizing my own life, my future, and the life I deserve. Every day I’m learning to trust my voice again, to set boundaries, and to celebrate the small wins. If you’re still in it, know this: You are not crazy. You are not too much. You are not alone. And when you’re ready, you can leave and you will rise. To everyone who has walked this road: We are survivors. We are warriors. And now… we are THRIVING. ✨ #SurvivedNarcissisticAbuse #HealingJourney #SelfForgiveness #ThrivingNotSurviving #Freedom

Same. If I see it, I’m calling it out. We don’t have to live like this. Abusive people can kiss my ass.
I was standing in line at Petco while the man ahead of me verbally attacked the woman with him, mf’ing her & questioning whether she would keep lying and continue whatever she was doing. I allowed it to continue for what seemed like five minutes before making eye contact with the couple ahead them who were also listening. I stepped toward the man and asked him to stop verbally abusing this woman in front of my child. The other couple then joined in. We offered to call someone for the woman or even the police. You might think I have a mouth on me here, but it carries into real life. You will not abuse someone in front of me and expect me to stay silent.

My boy re-enlisted this week. Patience pays off. He’s changing his MOS and got the job he always wanted. I’m so excited for him and couldn’t be more proud. He has my support always! 🇺🇸 I cannot wait to see where his boots land after the training. It’s been quite an adventure so far. Always forward! 🇺🇸 Army Mom Strong 💪🏻

People suck. What the fuck? Why can’t they just let us mourn and celebrate this man’s life in peace? We get it, you don’t like him. That’s what happens when you only watch clips of his debates. If you actually listened to what he had to say in its entirety, it might change your mind. Let us mourn in peace. If you don’t like it, keep walking. Defacing this won’t stop us. We are Charlie Kirk 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We will restore the statue and replace the signs, but we are also reviewing the footage of the incident and are working with law enforcement to identify who did this and hold them accountable. But vandalism like this is not funny, it’s diabolical. The incident happened in the middle of the night because evil never sleeps. Beyond spray painting on the neck and face, they made the intentional decision to cross out the name of Jesus on a nearby sign. “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” John 15:18

9/11 is always a somber day for me. I’m struggling a little harder this year. It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years. I remember it vividly. What’s really getting to me is that as I reflect, I see how far we have fallen. The division in our beloved United States of America in recent history is sickening. I feel like we will never be united again. How do we fix this? Can we fix this? Was it all for nothing? Those of us who were alive and remember have a solemn duty not to let people forget. It’s our obligation to remember.

We have to protect him!
I hate that I have to do this, it’s my least favorite part about my life. I knew my life would get even more dangerous when I announced I am suing California and began accepting invitations to speak on college campuses this semester. I need to raise money again for security. Doing the right thing and exposing evil now puts your life in danger in today’s society. For example, a UC Irvine “lecturer” (teacher) is insinuating it would be funny to assassinate me and leftist are threatening to kill me constantly. I will not cower to the radicals or the far left who threaten and plot to kill and destroy our country, yet the $30k–$50k a month it costs me just to stay safe doing my job is unsustainable. I make enough for my needs and my employees, but this added expense produces no return and is unsustainable on my own. If you can donate, please donate here: Nickshirley.us Donations are tax-deductible and go strictly toward security/operations, anything helps 🙏🏼 If you cannot donate no worries please like and share this so more may see it! God bless, Nick

You probably shouldn’t invite me to your party if you do this. Why? Because I would totally switch the signs 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Politicians shouldn’t be able to turn off their comment sections If they are not willing to listen to the public they should not be representing the public

I believed that if I loved hard enough people would eventually choose accountability over excuses. I was WRONG. The moment I stopped accepting manipulation, stopped explaining myself, and started choosing peace, everything changed. I became impossible to control. #MikeLamar

As a military mom I’ve learned two things: Pride is free and abundant. Civilians’ opinions are quite often tone deaf. • “Just tell him to come home. You’re his mom.”
Amazing. I’ll call the Pentagon right after I finish explaining to you that the U.S. Army does not run on maternal veto power. Sit down. • “Why doesn’t he just get a regular job like a normal person?”
He has a job. It just happens to include weapons qualifications, 0300 formations, and the possibility of being sent somewhere you couldn’t find on a map if I handed you one. • “You should just move wherever he is. Easy.”
Sure. Let me uproot my entire life, every couple of years because Karen from book club thinks geography is a suggestion. I’ll get right on that. • “The military pays for everything, right?”
Yes. Everything. Housing, food, uniforms, therapy for me, and a personal apology for every time someone says this sentence. Spoiler alert - they do not. • “He knew what he signed up for.”
He did. I signed up for loving him. I did not sign up to become your amateur military analyst, unpaid therapist, and human Google for “how does the Army actually work.” • “Just FaceTime more. It’s 2026.”
FaceTime is adorable until he’s in the field, the signal is held together with duct tape and spite, and the only thing I get is a frozen image of him looking like he aged five years in six weeks. Technology is not a substitute for him being home. • “You’re probably used to it by now.”
Used to the pride? Yes.
Used to my stomach dropping every time the phone rings at a weird hour? Still no. And I don’t need you telling me I should be. • “At least he’s not in a real war.”
Pick a lane. Either you think he’s in danger or you think it’s summer camp with better haircuts. You don’t get to do both in the same breath and then act like you’re being supportive. • “Have him request Fort [insert pretty city you saw on Pinterest]. My hairdresser’s brother said that’s the good one.”
I’ll be sure to forward that to his chain of command. I’m sure they’ll rearrange the entire force structure because Sharon had a feeling. • “I could never do what you do.”
Correct. You couldn’t. Military moms don’t need your strategy session. If you don’t have a kid in uniform and or you have never worn one, the only acceptable sentence is: “Please tell him thank you for his service.” Everything after that is you talking just to hear yourself. We’ll keep loving them, worrying about them, and rolling our eyes at the rest of you. The Army already has enough people telling it what to do. It doesn’t need a second-hand briefing from social media warriors. Thank you for your attention to this matter 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
