Sheeran’s years of Celtickling is why the Left got so triggered
His ‘neutral’ stance, publicly picking money over protecting a determinedly-mid white rapper’s moral posturing, has felt like a betrayal to liberals

News from the UK & the US has been relentlessly overwhelming & hard to process. Especially, the news that an Mississippi attorney general said the fatal police shooting of 1yo baby Kohen Wiley was ‘justified’. The world has lost its moral compass.
May Kohen rest in peace 🙏🏾🕊️

Please ... Stop buying clothes. Most of us have far too many already.
There is a mountain of unworn clothes in the driest desert on earth, large enough to be photographed from space. It grows by 39,000 tons a year and almost none of it will ever rot.
The Atacama, in northern Chile, is a place where it may not rain for a decade. On its edge is a duty-free port called Iquique. Every year about 59,000 tons of clothing arrives there from Europe, America and Asia. It is last season's stock that never sold, and the bags people leave at charity shops.
Dealers pick through it for anything they can resell across South America. Two thirds of it is worthless. Nobody will pay to ship it back out, so lorries drive it into the desert at night and tip it.
The local landfill refuses to take it. The reason given is that the clothing does not biodegrade and is full of chemicals. Most of it is polyester, which is plastic, and in a place with no rain and no soil life it will lie there for centuries. Some of it is set alight, and the smoke drifts over a town of 100,000 people.
In 2025 a Chilean court ruled that the dumps had done serious damage to the land.
For most of history this could not have happened. Clothes were wool, linen and leather. They were worn out, handed down and patched, and at the very end a rag merchant paid for the scraps. In Yorkshire, from 1813, old woollens were shredded and spun into new cloth. Anything left went on the fields, where wool breaks down in months and feeds the grass.
Nobody ever had to find a desert for worn-out wool. We invented a fabric that cannot die, and then we started making it to be thrown away.

Yeah, AI-generated. That is unfortunate because it leads people to doubt the reality of the incident, which DID happen.
A woman who looks sort of like that wearing a t-shirt like that WAS assaulted at a Trump rally, including being punched in the face.
This is NOT AI.

On this episode of Palestine Deep Dive, we sit down with Nadia Sawalha, former Loose Women presenter, and her husband Mark Adderley, filmmaker and Green Party councillor, to discuss the price of speaking out, the power of the media, and the growing culture of fear surrounding Palestine in Britain. We also discuss the Green Party’s “Zionism is Racism” motion.
Nadia is pursuing legal action against ITV via the European Legal Support Centre (ELSC), alleging discrimination and harassment linked to her anti-Zionist beliefs. Mark has fought his own battles, winning a defamation case against the Daily Mail over articles about him, and facing suspension from the Green Party before his reinstatement.

Today I attended the launch of this important report on the impact the condition endometriosis has on women in the workplace. I raised the plight of women with endometriosis over 20 years ago in Parliament after meeting constituents struggling to secure a diagnosis, support and treatment. Many women explained the immense difficulties and lack of support they were experiencing at work. This detailed report brings home the reality so many women still face and sets out a series of improvements that could be made to transform the lives of large numbers of women at work.

We go to the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces on Tuesday raided what they say are the offices of several Palestinian NGOs, confiscating legal files, court records, and valuable equipment. At least one journalist was reportedly detained. Palestinian officials say a child was injured from Israeli gunfire, and others suffered from tear gas inhalation. “It happens every day that they raid different villages, different cities,” says Palestinian human rights lawyer Sahar Francis.

There are growing signs of a DWP push to claim that conditions like ADHD, autism, anxiety and depression are less likely to lead to significant additional costs and, therefore, should be treated differently by the benefits system.
