Why does @PBA_savingsight designate April as Women’s Eye Health and Safety Month?
Women are disproportionately affected by eye conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, glaucoma, and thyroid eye disease.
According to @AAOjournal, women tend to live longer than men, and because many vision issues are age-related, their risk increases over time.
In addition, social and economic barriers can limit women’s access to eye care, particularly in developing countries.
