In Georgia, 1937 became a symbol of repression, political persecution, and lives destroyed by a system that treated dissent as a crime.
Today, a 72-year-old pediatrician was sentenced to 5 years in prison. Journalists, activists, artists, and citizens continue to face prosecution and imprisonment.
Looking at these events, many
Georgians cannot help but see echoes of a past we hoped would never return.

Okay, so, the struggle for Georgia isn’t over yet, but I am nevertheless considering writing a book on resistance, freedom fight, personal betrayals, quest for love, emerging stronger, etc. (I suppose the book would lean a bit towards “girl stuff” too, especially since I’m told my occasional comic reliefs are appreciated).
The target audience should be global and not only niche to Georgia. This way I’d hope more could relate, have food for thought, AND indirectly also get acquainted with Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, the common struggle…
After all, a book that inspired me to read more literature was about the struggle in Iran - Shirin Ebadi’s The Golden Cage: Three Brothers, Three Choices, One Destiny.
And hopefully we are victorious by the time I’m finished drafting it! :)
I’ll take any and all advice on English publishers and just where to even begin. I plan on reaching out early in January.
Thank you! Your constant support as a community and quite a big interest in my old post on a book actually played a huge role in convincing me to pursue the thought. ❤️
The night the air turned poisonous.
The chemical that hit us was the same type first used in World War I - something the world abandoned a century ago.
But my own government brought it back against peaceful protesters.

They change the face - Kobakhidze, Ivanishvili but the shadow behind them stays the same: Putin.

Aza, a 71-year-old refugee from Gagra, was detained today by the Georgian Dream regime.
During the war, when the corpses of Georgian soldiers were left unburied and those who tried to bury them were being killed Aza found the courage to bury them herself.
Today, this same woman was arrested for peacefully protesting for her country’s freedom.
Despite repressions, arrests, and fear thousands filled Rustaveli Avenue again tonight. The people of Georgia are standing firm for freedom, democracy, and our European future.
We need real action from our allies. We need sanctions against the oligarch who’s destroying our country.

This photo was taken in front of the Georgian Parliament.
The woman in front was just released after spending days in prison her only “crime” was blocking a road in peaceful protest. The woman behind her is holding her tightly, because if she dares to block the road again, she will face a criminal charge and up to one year in prison.
This is what dictatorship looks like.
People who stand for democracy are being silenced, detained, and threatened.
EU, UK, USA we need you to act now.
Impose sanctions on Ivanishvili and his circle. Stop funding oppression.
Georgia is fighting for its future with bare hands please don’t look away.

🇬🇪 RUSTAVELI IS STILL BLOCKED.
Despite mass repressions and over 60 detained, people are still standing fearless, unbroken, unstoppable.
This is what resistance looks like.
I’m crying because I love these people so much - because they’re not afraid of anything.
They fight for all of us. For freedom. For dignity. For Georgia’s future in Europe.
The world must not look away.
👉 Sanction Ivanishvili and every enabler of this dictatorship.

⚠️ MASS DETENTIONS IN GEORGIA ⚠️
Over 60 peaceful protesters were arrested these days in Tbilisi for blocking the road for demanding their future, not for committing crimes.
This regime is turning Georgia into another Belarus. People are jailed for raising their voices. The world must not stay silent.

Sanction Ivanishvili & Kobakhidze NOW! #SanctionGD #FreeGeorgia.
Let’s stop pretending this is not “law enforcement.” This is Kremlin rule with a Georgian flag taped over it.
Over 150 political prisoners sit in Georgian cells today not for robbery, not for violence, but for blocking a road, holding a flag, refusing to bow to Borinka.
This is not democracy.
This is KGB-style repression
the exact same script used in Russia and Belarus.
They are not “detaining protesters.”
They are arresting Georgia’s European future.
Borinka Ivanishvili and his Moscow-trained regime want us silent.
Well, let the world hear this:
Georgia is currently ruled by Kremlin methods.
Political imprisonment is now state policy.
And no EU talks mean anything until every prisoner is free.
Sanction these bastards until they detain whole Georgia!

Another Georgian citizen silenced for standing up for justice. Her detention is not just an attack on one person, it is an attack on the rule of law and human rights.
We call on the international community to take immediate action. Words are not enough anymore. Targeted sanctions against those responsible for political persecution in Georgia are urgently needed.
Justice must prevail. ✊
1937 is not history, it’s happening again.
In Soviet Georgia, writers, doctors, teachers, artists and ordinary citizens were arrested for thinking differently.
Today, in 2025, we see the same professions behind bars again.
Dictatorships don’t change their tactics - but people don’t change their desire for freedom either.
