Itβs just crazy how literally nothing can break the perception that republicans are fiscally conservative. It does not matter that republicans have exploded the debt and deficit every time for the last 50 years, people still insist theyβre fiscally conservative

my heart truly breaks for the bioware devs :( imagine having a project youβve spent years pouring your heart and soul into cancelled in favor of another project thatβs still nothing more than an idea. this feels so unbelievably cruel to them, they deserved better

"Why don't you like Elon?"
Because he uses his giant platform to spread baseless fear, encouraging Americans with different political views to hate each other. He makes our political world worse.
In reality land, Democrats don't want to open the borders and "legalize everyone." Biden's border policies were too loose, but he cracked down (under pressure) in his last year, and the 2024 Dem platform explicitly called for better border security.
Immigration policies hurt Dems at the polls, and they're wary of getting burned again.
Assuming that immigrants will all support Dems is also ahistorical. Half of Hispanic voters, immigrants and children of immigrants, picked Trump in 2024, partly because they didn't agree with lax immigration policies.
Remember, in 2021-2022, Democrats controlled the presidency, the Senate, and the House, but they didn't pass Elon's scare package! If they're so evil, why didn't they do it then???
"Game over for America"? Just stupid fearmongering: "If my side doesn't win, we're all DOOMED!!!" Sometimes one party wins, sometimes the other. That's how elections work.
Elon is as trustworthy on politics as Hasan Piker.
(But making Puerto Rico a state would be fair. They are American citizens; give them representation.)

ALT Three-panel meme from Spider-Man 3. Peter Parker says "I'm voting for the Democrats." Harry Osborn replies "If the Democrats win, they are going to go after Trump and his family." Peter, looking puzzled, says "I already said I was voting for the Democrats, you don't have to convince me." Watermark @projectliberal.

Every day β sometimes multiple times per day β this absurd malevolent figure lies outrageously or delusionally about something. There's never been anyone like this in national politics.

The hyperpartisan brain is a wondrous thing.
In every online rightwing neighborhood, you will find declarations that the right needs to become as ruthless as the left, and in every online leftwing neighborhood, you will find declarations that the left needs to become as ruthless as the right.
A few examples of the right's ruthlessness and will to power that may have slipped CAP's mind: The famed Garland-Gorsuch-Barrett sequence, withholding lower court seats during the final two years of the Obama administration, state-level court packing, various redistricting a gerrymandering maneuvers, GOP legislatures stripping various incoming Democratic governors of certain provisions of power, and, of course, the various elements now collectively referred to as "1/6".

While there is a bunch of Mass Effect discourse happening I would just like to say that I don't think it's talked about enough how horribly tedious the mineral scanning was in ME2. You had to spend so much time doing this mindnumbingly boring trash to get worthwhile upgrades.
