Microdramas are having a moment as this format pushes what short-form storytelling can be with quick episodes, twists and cliffhangers. Our Asia-Pacific team has been on the ground with @YouTubeCreators, partners and media, capturing the momentum driving this boom.
In the first half of 2026, microdramas on @YouTube surpassed 6.5 billion views, with watch time in APAC growing by over 70% year-over-year. With Shorts series, creators can now build full seasons right on YouTube - Japan’s @gokko5club is already leaning in.
APAC is giving us an early look at where serialized storytelling is heading. The next hit could start with a creator in Manila, Seoul or Jakarta and reach a global audience. Our job is to build the stage for it.

This is how you create the next Star Wars:
1 - Get your own IP to go viral
2 - Partner with an amazing platform like Dreamina
3 - Grow your audience and team over 6 months
4 - Pitch your feature script to studios, actors attached and total views to date
5 - Get a greenlight as a hybrid feature film
(I don't talk much about our feature film because, though we've had multiple offers, we're still writing the script and waiting to choose a major studio until the project is fully packaged.)
More updates on that early next year but you can still follow our playbook to repeat the same success.
Our mission in life is to tell great stories but also to empower storytellers.
So it's the greatest job to be able to make our original films and then give away ALL of our prompts and processes FOR FREE.
I love hearing stories of creators that have followed us (and get more views on their original series, haha!) because we firmly believe that a rising tide raises all boats.
Also I really want to emphasize that though it's more fun to follow a creator than a studio, I get far too much spotlight for content that is made by our entire team at @genreai_.
Whatever I'm a part of is made 100x better by our 30+ team members and artists that we work with on a monthly basis.
You see them in our credits, but it's important to highlight the value of working with teams to produce at this scale.
We now make 3+ Nexus episodes PER MONTH (plus BTS content) and it wouldn't be possible without our incredible artists and my co-founder @tawnyholguin who keeps our sky-train on the tracks! :)
Let me know if you want me to share more about how we organize our projects, staff our episode pods or other details that go beyond "prompts".
There aren't many AI studios doing content at this level and I will continue to share our journey and tips to anyone who wants to go on a similar path.
As always, thank you to all the fans and viewers for supporting our content. We make this for you and hope you continue to enjoy where this universe is headed.
Our episodes to date have been in many ways a bit of a story R&D lab where we're experimenting with characters, locations and animals that may make for great recurring characters but now we will begin to dip into a more linear narrative arc with consistent faces and places.
You've seen just the tip of the iceberg with this epic universe of Nexus and the best stories will be coming out soon!
A big shoutout to Dreamina for trusting us with this partnership and we can't wait to share more soon!
Every cinematic universe starts somewhere.
For @PJaccetturo , NEXUS began with one question: What happens when you put an adorable creature in danger?
At @austinaifilm, we talked about building worlds, taking big creative swings, and how Dreamina is empowering a new generation of storytellers.

Finally had time to test Kling 4 - and I’m quite impressed.
This is a four character video swap that’s nearly perfect on the first try. And it’s much faster and cheaper than Seedance 2.5.
👏 to the @Kling_ai team. Love to see some competition!
