The Year I Stayed Home: how my decision to be single and childless so I could travel and be freeeeeee backfired. #TheLexiHaughtonStory

Y’all, looks like I’m coming out of social media retirement to do nothing else but say this: be excellent to each other. πŸ’–

Don’t forget: βœ… plane ticket to Mexico βœ… reservations at the Ritz βœ… no shame
It is better to be over prepared than underprepared for winter weather. Things to have on hand as the winter weather approaches: βœ… Extra warm clothes & blankets βœ… Portable lights and extra batteries βœ… First-aid kit βœ… Extra nonperishable food and water for family and pets

For my morning tweeps… two tweets for ya.
Are any of my followers in the medical field? I ordered a box of individually wrapped medium/large N95 masks from project95 when we were in the thick of Covid care here at Haughton House. But they don’t fit me properly. I thought I had a normal head but these are SO TIGHT.

I won the first French wordle I attempted. I should…probably quit while I’m ahead.
The best Christmas gift I got this year was a SodaStream. My word, endless fresh fizzy water without the guilt of single use packaging is sublime.

This isn’t sponsored (but hey @SodaStreamUSA hit me uppppp). This is the one Mom got me and I adore the glass vesselsβ€”I’m constantly amazed that they keep the water fizzy hours later! sodastream.com/products/aqua…

I have so many β€œrecipes” I’ve developed, but honestly a splash of lime juice is divine. And, pro-tip: keep the glass bottle in the fridge even if it’s empty.
Oh man. If I were getting married, I think I’d want this Peaches and Cream Barbie extravaganza. Heck, who am I kidding, I’d wear this on any day that ends with a -y. selkiecollection.com/collect…

Because I’m #1 Futuristic, I bought tests for my family way before Christmas. (And we needed them, unfortunately, when both of my parents fell ill.) One person from each US household should request their free rapid tests here: special.usps.com/testkits And keep wearing masks! 😷
Saw a trailer for Yellowjackets with four badass looking women walking into their reunion and thought oh maybe I should get Showtime. Then googled the show and noped out so harrrrrrd. Not for me.
I just had a conversation with a sticker on our grocery delivery. It’s a long red rectangle that has β€œFRAGILE” printed in big white block letters. I clucked my tongue like an old southern woman as I tried to take it off the sack: I know just how you feel. Who hurt you, baby?

Hey you, the one taking care of everyone else? Yeah, you. Take care of you. Check in with your PCP about your mental health. I did last week and it was really important. You can’t do it all. You can’t control everything. But you can take steps to get in a better place. πŸ’–
