What's the project you keep putting off, the one you know you're not ready for, #WritingCommunity ?
Really study one of your favorite movies.
Watch it like the writer you are.
How did the scriptwriters handle the plot, the pacing, and the climax?
What makes the film your favorite?
This is a way-back memory:
In college I lived on an island and one of my friends there was a tall slender surfer with the most fantastic ginger afro and, unfortunately for a surfer, very fair and easily sunburned skin.
Needless to say, he didn't really blend in.
So when he went to the island library, he was noticed.
One librarian began a months-long standoff with him because he wasn't wearing shoes.
Her: it's unhygenic.
Him: are you saying flip flops are a germ containment system?
Her: it's dirty.
Him: i'm walking on the same sidewalks I'd walk with shoes, and don't you think i'm a lot more careful to not step in gum or 💩 when i'm barefoot?
Her: it's against the rules.
Him: the rules make no sense. And i'm trying to check out a book to BETTER myself; are you denying me that privilege?
IIRC he would check out books on her days off. Barefoot.

I wrote a memoir published in 2018, it scans from my marriage (in deep trouble year eight) in the prologue to my childhood, coming-of-age, grief, alcoholism, and recovery. When a former babysitter read
AS A RESULT, she messaged me. “ I read your story as a cautionary tale and haven’t had a drink since.” That was a reward for me, and a reminder for those of us with long term sobriety (Hubby and I have 40 years sober, 48 married) we can and should tell our stories.
I think the angriest email reply I've ever gotten was when I sent a newsletter suggesting that work-life balance is a lie.
Make of that what you will.
Just got a notification that my neighbors are on telegram!
It's been a long time but I don't think I'll message them.
They've been dead for several years 😱
I have a cold and it's kind of a relief.
Glad it happened on a Friday.
Guess I'll have to get caught up on some reading...on the couch...with a warm drink...for muh health.

If you are wondering what’s next in your work—give this a listen, and then give the book a read.
Encouraging conversation with @MatthewChang on his book, Risk Taking is Biblical.
The man is living a life of adventure wisdom, and legacy well beyond his years.
Stewarding risk.

I've been known to scan old-timey names from cemetery headstones to find character names for my stories.
#WritersBlock is an umbrella term.
Not the actual problem.
Just the symptom.
Writers are creative in other areas too.
You don't just flip the switch off when the writing's done :)
We have the sweetest neighbors 🐝
(Pun totally intended.)

After attending @ThomasEWoods webinar for The Final 90 last night (link below), I realized I'm not spending that much time on X, really.
I already limit it so much it's not going to move the needle as far as productivity goes.
So I think I'll do this: post/sched/reply with my coffee in the mornings and scroll my Following tab after I finish my daily DuoLingo lesson at bedtime.
If it keeps frying my circuits, will adjust.
The next time you've got #WritersBlock , try this:
Ask aloud, "What's your problem?"
And listen.
Maybe it's you, maybe it's the main character.
Talk it out.
