To take a phrase from a friend, welcome to our second birth! Weekly Shogakukan Edition is now Strict Algorithm LLC.
As noted on the quoted tweet, not much will change (not even the @) --this is to be legally distinct from Shogakukan. We'll still be doing threads, contests, and translations as always.
Shogakukan is still going to be the key focus, *but* with this new name the hope is going forward we'll be applying our talents to J-culture/media of all kinds and publishers!

Announced today at @mangamavericks #SDCC2025 industry panel:
Starting in August, “Weekly Shogakukan Edition” as it is now will be absorbed into my new LLC “Strict Algorithm.”
Fast facts:
✅By the end of August this and all of our accounts will have changed names.
✅Day to day operations will *not* change. Nor will the @ (we’ll still be WSSTB on tags, just not in name.)
✅ This is being done to further make us legally distinct from Shogakukan.
✅The logo (designed by @soragsilverwind) will be as depicted below beginning August 1st.

We have some very exciting news to share this November!
Over the past few months, we've been working behind the scenes to make your experience with our manga even better. We're incredibly grateful for all the support you've shown us since the beginning, and we're committed to continuing to improve every step of the way.
We've already made some big changes:
- Digital distribution is now handled directly by our team
- Digital Review Copies (DRCs) are now available on Edelweiss+
- We've started working with reviewers on manga review campaigns
And we're not done yet!

Naomichi Io's new series "Tanoshii Ongaku" (Fun Music) has started on Sunday Webry.
It is Io-sensei's first weekly serialization.
In it, a high school freshman suddenly finds himself the drummer on an all-girls band.

We discussed their voice-acting origins, favorite roles to play, a specific *small* role, and of course, Detective Conan!
