decided I wasn't sad enough so I rewatched Logan and now I just wanna cry for a few days
God... The worst news. Just finished rewatching all of his X-Men movies, too
Stewart was the idol of my friend who I lost a few years back. So whenever I watched his movies, they remind me of my friend
And growing up watching him as Picard and Xavier, he brought such gravitas to media that had been dismissed as "for nerds"
Off-screen, he always seemed like such a beacon of light and hope, patience and tolerance. He modelled values he stood for as Picard and Xavier in his public life, and I think that's what made them so authentic and resonant
There's something so cruel about the disease that takes Charles in Logan taking Patrick in real life... That movie will be even harder to watch from now on
After watching Days of Future Past again, this line really stuck with me... An older Charles, comforting his younger self across time and dimensions:
"Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn't mean they're lost forever. Sometimes, we all need a little help."

My mama graduated today
Oh not my model mama, my actual mum! Oh and she's still continuing activities, it's not that kind of graduation - she did a masters...
This kind of thing is confusing when you're a VTuber, isn't it?
I think the best part of the Wildcard Club applications was that it felt like a community event, everyone was making this sick videos showing off how cool and unique they were, and people really got caught up in the hype.
Lots of new people discovered me through my video, and I discovered lots of new people through theirs!
Auditions are often private, so we never get to see that process. But I think it would be cool to see more "competitive" audition events like this in the space! I think this kind of "competitiveness" is healthy and fun, and I think many people who made audition tapes benefitted from them in spite of not making it in!
Looking forward to seeing who's announced tomorrow!!! Very excited for Rin & Mousey's teams! π₯³

I splice tf out of all my Miku stuff, but only with other Mikus...
I'm now at a point where I'll do a full Miku v4x, a full Miku English and now a full Miku V6 pass of a song, and then use Solid/Sweet for any parts that need it, and go through phoneme by phoneme auditioning the clearest one from each performance and splice them together
V6 has made this process easier but often v4x still has better clarity, even if it can't do all of the correct English phonemes

Everybody in the replies saying acupuncture is pseudoscience... It's genuinely not. There is a TON of published research on the benefits for inflammation reduction when practiced effectively.
The issue is skill. A good acupuncturist can help. A bad one can MESS YOU UP!
Like it is used in Western medical practice all the time now, and in China electro-acupuncture is even used during open heart surgery as an alternative to sedation (you can turn off a persons sensation of pain by running a low current through their body using acupuncture needles). The patient stays awake the whole time, can still talk and everything, but can't feel anything whilst the surgeon cuts them open.
Another factor as well, somewhat anecdotally, is that individuals often react to treatment in different ways. I know people with chronic health issues and autoimmune conditions who have reacted in strange ways to treatment, so there's lots of factors at play. I have personally had this happen on occasion.
But if you're a regular person and your just need something to help your muscles relax, find out where people in your local Chinese/East Asian community go and give it a shot
I am discovering that when I said "western medical practice", this apparently doesn't include America...
Many European countries have been researching, training doctors and using acupuncture as therapeutic treatments in medicine for decades now, let alone how it is applied in Chinese medical healthcare (and I've been treated for medical issues in China, it's genuinely some of the highest quality of healthcare I've ever experienced in my life and was super affordable even without insurance).
Medical acupuncture is not alternative medicine, it's a genuine therapeutic treatment
