🇺🇸Red Wave Optimism: The Night Is Still Young
Exit polls and media spin are painting a blue apocalypse, but the numbers that matter most are the ones that haven’t been fully counted yet — and history says Republicans outperform expectations when Trump is involved.
Here’s the bullish case:
—Election Day voters are redder. Early NBC subsample of in-person Election Day voters showed Republicans ahead 54–42 on the generic House ballot. Democrats’ overall edge comes heavily from early and mail voting. If same-day turnout is strong (as it often is for the GOP), that margin can collapse fast.
—Senate map still favors Republicans structurally. Democrats need a net gain of four seats, mostly in states Trump won by double digits in 2024 (Texas, Ohio, Iowa, Kansas, Alaska). Even with soft Trump numbers, holding those is very doable. A 50–50 or 51–49 Republican Senate is still the base case for many, not a stretch.
—Polling and exit polls have systematically underestimated GOP strength in the Trump era. 2016, 2020, and even 2022 saw repeated surprises on the right. Low Trump approval + “economy bad” messaging is the exact environment where late deciders and shy voters have swung the other way before.
—Early returns aren’t decisive. First states closing (parts of Indiana, Kentucky) are deep red. Any Democratic overperformance there is real but limited in national impact. The real battlegrounds (Texas, Ohio, Maine, Pennsylvania House races, etc.) are still wide open. Republicans only need to hold serve in most competitive House seats and a handful of Senate races.
The narrative machine wants a blue tsunami. The actual vote totals — especially once Election Day ballots hit — can still deliver a Republican hold of the Senate and a surprisingly competitive House. Stay locked in. The red wave isn’t dead until the last precinct reports.

Guess it couldn’t wait until after the midterms after all—Tonight we’re hitting Qeshm Island again—multiple explosions reported there (five or so in a row), with locals spotting aircraft overhead and blasts also heard around Bandar Abbas. Reports point to us taking out an air defense system on the island, right after the IRGC claimed they downed a couple of our drones in the area.
Still the same message as before: if they retaliate against these hits on the radars, comms, and defenses around the Strait, we’re going after their whole command structure and hitting them a lot harder. Midterms are basically here and we clearly weren’t waiting. Now we see if they actually do anything about it.

Man, this is just awful. A Learjet coming down like that out of the blue near a residential area in Palm Beach County—nine people on board, heading from Austin to the Bahamas, and it ends up in a mobile home park!
My heart goes out to the families. Hoping no one on the ground got hurt, though from the looks of the scene that seems unlikely.
Crazy how fast things can go wrong in the air. Waiting to hear what the NTSB finds out.

BREAKING: Iran has rejected JD Vance’s request to restart talks, saying it will take no new steps until the United States implements its seven conditions “all at once,” per an informed Iranian source to Al-Mayadeen and Fars News.
The source said Vance recently corresponded with SNSC Secretary Mohsen Rezaei, and called Trump’s claim that the letter was about equipment and medicine “completely false.” American reports of progress or an Iranian retreat are also incorrect, the source said.
The conditions include ending all military actions, releasing frozen assets, lifting the naval blockade, and withdrawing U.S. forces from areas near Iran. Tehran has not yet responded to Vance’s letter. The red line remains. Washington can keep writing. Iran is not moving.

This isn’t generic prep. The timing is the message.
They know Iran will cut the undersea cables under the Strait of Hormuz the moment the strikes start. Iranian officials have already said it out loud: seven major cables are “legitimate new targets,” detailed plans ready, and they’ll block repairs to make it last. Data centers and AI sites in the Gulf are on the list too. Most of the world’s data rides those cables. Businesses and governments that are 100% dependent on always-on internet, cloud everything, just-in-time logistics, and digital payments are being quietly told to figure out how they used to operate when the network goes dark for weeks or months.

🚨BREAKING: MASSIVE TRAIN CRASH IN SPAIN — AT LEAST 10 DEAD, BODIES STILL BEING PULLED FROM THE WRECKAGE
Two high-speed trains just slammed into each other outside Madrid this morning. One plowed into the back of the other that was sitting stopped on the tracks. Carriages flew off the rails, some tumbled down a hill, and emergency crews are still digging through the mess.
At least 10 people are confirmed dead. Spanish officials are already warning the number is going to climb. More than 500 passengers were on those trains, including a baby. This is not a minor fender-bender. This is a full-scale disaster on one of Europe’s fastest rail lines.
🇺🇸For the average American watching this, it feels a lot like the worst Amtrak accidents we’ve seen — except these trains were built to go a lot faster and supposedly safer. Instead, we get the same nightmare: twisted metal, people trapped, families waiting by their phones for news that will never be good.
This is the second deadly high-speed crash involving the same two train companies on the same route this year. Back in January another collision killed 46 people. Ten months later and here we are again. Spain’s prime minister says he’s shocked. Of course he is. So is everyone else.
The entire high-speed line between Madrid and southern Spain is shut down. Hospitals are bracing for more injured. Rescuers are working the scene right now. And somewhere in all that wreckage, more families are about to get the worst phone call of their lives.
