Ten usual suspects have been jailed for a combined 130 years after a mother was set on fire in a revenge attack that also seriously injured a teenage girl.
To escape the flames at a house, both victims were forced to jump from an upstairs window they had smashed.
A 31-year-old woman inside the property was struck on the head and set on fire. She suffered 65% burns, a broken pelvis, broken ribs and a cut to her liver.
A 13-year-old girl, also in the house, suffered 15% burns to her right arm!

Midnight Mainnet: The Last Big Node Release Before Open Contract Deployment Is Out
Midnight Node 1.0.3 has just been released. According to @SebastienGllmt, it is the last main technical release before smart contract deployment gets enabled for everyone on Midnight mainnet.
What happens next: the team lets the release soak for a while, and if everything looks good, deployments get switched on. So open contract deployment is coming soon, but it is not live on mainnet yet. No date has been announced.
Once it is enabled, builders will be able to deploy private smart contracts on mainnet, including minting private custom tokens.
And that is not the end. Testnet already runs the next version of Midnight smart contracts with new features like events and composability. Those are planned for mainnet next and are not live there yet.
My take: a soak period before flipping the switch is exactly what you want from a privacy L1. Careful rollout first, then the builders arrive.
