4. Your diet Eating plenty of vegetables, fruit, and fish, and not much processed or red meat, is linked to better prostate health in some studies. Please be careful with supplements. Saw palmetto is popular, but studies on it have been mixed, so it's worth asking your doctor before you spend your money on it.

5. Keeping things moving Constipation and straining can add pressure in the pelvis and make urinary symptoms feel worse. Fiber, water, and regular movement help here. If your pelvic muscles are tight, slow belly breathing and gentle stretching can help them let go.

6. The anti-constipation fruit Many people say prunes, and they're right to. Prunes contain fiber and a natural compound called sorbitol, which tends to draw water into the gut and can soften stools. A handful of them, or a glass of prune juice, is a classic for a reason. But here's the one that surprises people: kiwi. Some studies suggest that eating a couple of kiwis a day can help improve how often people go and how easily things pass. Pears, apples with the skin on, and berries are also good choices, thanks to their fiber. Two quick rules: • Add fiber slowly, because piling it on too fast can leave you gassy and bloated. • Drink water along with it, because fiber without fluid can actually make things worse.

7. When to see a doctor If you notice blood in your stool, severe belly pain, unexplained weight loss, vomiting, or constipation that lasts more than a few weeks, don't wait. And be careful with laxatives. Using them again and again without medical guidance isn't a good long-term plan. Ask your doctor what's right for you. Help your gut with movement, fiber, and water, and don't ignore it when your body is telling you something's wrong.

HOW PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES AFFECT SEXUAL PERFORMANCE, CORE STRENGTH AND BLADDER CONTROL There's a muscle group hiding inside your body that you've probably never trained, never thought about, and never been taught to use. 1. What the pelvic floor is

9. Learn to relax it, not just squeeze it Lie on your back with your knees bent, and breathe low and slowly into your belly. As you inhale, let the pelvic floor soften and drop a little, like a gentle release. As you exhale, let it ease back up. Strong muscles aren't just ones that contract hard. They're ones that can contract and fully let go.

10. Where to start If you think you're on the weak side, short, gentle squeezes with full relaxation between them are the usual starting point, built up gradually. If you think you're on the tight side, start with the breathing and relaxation first. If you aren't sure, or if you have pain, ongoing leaking, or sexual problems, see a doctor or a pelvic floor physical therapist. They can assess what's actually going on and give you a plan built for you. That's often faster than guessing. A healthy pelvic floor isn't the strongest one, it's the one that can both squeeze and let go.
