Dana White says Islam Makhachev is holding up the welterweight division, and never told the UFC why he pulled out of January 😬
"Islam fights like once a year. He was slated for January, and then said 'I don't want to fight until after Ramadan.'"
.
"You can't hold up divisions like this. You gotta keep moving."
That's not what Islam said in August. After beating Ian Garry at UFC 330: "We have to fight before Ramadan, 100%. January, end of 2026, I have to fight. I'm 34 years old, I have to fight as soon as possible."

Dana White has reached the point where he doesn’t even want to answer Eddie Hearn questions anymore.
During the UFC 332 post-fight press conference, a reporter attempted to bring up Hearn and the ongoing drama surrounding Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua. Dana immediately shut the conversation down, making it clear he’s tired of repeatedly discussing the Matchroom promoter and has no interest in continuing their public back-and-forth.
There is one thing White was willing to clarify: he says the UFC will produce the Fury-Joshua broadcast. White has repeatedly insisted that his team will handle production for the December 11 Netflix event in Cardiff, saying earlier this week: “Not only am I promoting the fight, we’re producing the fight too. UFC is gonna produce the show.”
That remains part of the dispute between the two sides. Hearn maintains that Matchroom’s agreement with Joshua prevents White or Zuffa Boxing from formally promoting the event without approval, and the British Boxing Board of Control lists Matchroom, Queensberry and Sela as the official promoters. White, however, continues to insist he has a major role behind the scenes.
But as far as Dana is concerned, the debate is apparently finished.
Ask him about producing Fury vs. Joshua? He’ll answer. Ask him about Eddie Hearn? He’s done.
Esteban Ribovics destroys King Green in round 1 at UFC 332 😳
4:05 of round 1. The 4-fight win streak is over. The weigh-in beef was real. Green and Arnold Barboza Jr got in Ribovics' face on Friday: "Back the fck up! Don't fcking touch me. We can get down right now!"
Ribovics answered on Saturday night.
Green was the hottest veteran in the lightweight division. 39 years old. TKO'd McKinney with 1 second left at UFC 329. Beat Stephens, Zellhuber, and Gibson Jr before that. Owns 9 houses but lives in his car because he gave them all to his friends. Said he'd bring a streamer into his corner for $250K.
36-18-1. The king got dethroned. At 39, every loss hits different 😔
Raul Rosas Jr. after his scary main event victory:
“Please pray for Raoni Barcelos.” 🙏
Some things are bigger than fighting. Hoping Barcelos is okay after the frightening scenes at #UFCVegas121 ❤️
