I won a @shortyawards for my work with the @PilotMHCampaign! I’ve always thought I was millions of subscribers away from an award like this, but what I’ve learned over the last year is the stories you tell are so much more important than the number of likes you get.
This video coming on the screen was one of the craziest surprises I’ve ever experienced. Thank you Scott, even though you almost made me cry at a public event 💜
A couple of weeks ago I DJ'd at the Space Gala in the rocket garden at KSC, I brought my mix of dancefloor tunes all set to video. I knew the crowd would be dominated by women in aerospace, so I made a bunch of special videos for the event, like Taylor Swift with photos of women astronauts.
I needed something special for the end of the show, and I found this mashup of Chappell Roan and Journey which fit the bill musically.
The video was built around @XylaFoxlin who did a fine job as the MC for the event, it started with the disco ball propeller, showed some builds including the rocket powered Christmas tree, and then halfway through it was about Xyla the pilot.
If you don't know she's had issues with her medical, and has been working to promote the Pilot Mental Health Campaign which aims to fix some of the glaring problems with the current system. So Don't Stop Believin' was very much an intentional message.
And then the day before the event she released a new video about flying with @rookisaacman - so, in my hotel room I re-edited the final section to include the jets.
And I remember a few people cheered this particular moment, I hadn't expected that.
Next day we were launching rockets and I had a lot of the rocket builders asking me about learning to fly, so maybe I helped put a few more people on that path.

Last minute costume idea for anyone who wants to have to explain their costume to everyone who asks
“What are you?!!”
“Trial by Fire”
You will also need a white wig, flame bodysuit, wooden mallet, and old graduation robes handy, but doesn’t everyone?
#sponsored Happy Halloween everyone! In honor of the holiday, I’m here to tell you about the scariest thing of all: losing track of your data 👻 Having run my YouTube channel for five years now, I’ve racked up hundreds of terabytes of footage across multiple SSDs.
I can actually maintain an organized file management system now! And because it’s connected to the cloud, I can access all of my data from literally anywhere, making on-the-go work completely seamless.
If you want to get in on this NAS action, you can learn more about Synology through my link HERE: sy.to/ey1noThank you so much to Synology for sponsoring the channel! Thanks to them, my editing process has gotten a million times easier 🥰

Envy, envy, envy!
Also, a little late but: kudos to Xyla for getting back to flight status. (And nice placement for that interstitial ad… 😂🤣😂🤣😂)
I am literally floored at how much money we’ve raised in one week! Join me and @PilotMHCampaign in raising $75k to get the Mental Health in Aviation Act passed in the Senate!!

This is worth watching, especially if you have followed my reporting on pilot mental health. I'm proud of @XylaFoxlin for using her plight for good. Aviation is better with her in it! youtu.be/aj0H8oVS7qg?si=367C…
