We’re laughing, but the success we’ve seen this year is no joke.
•Record low reduction in homicides
•Record low reduction in total incidents of gunfire
•“Safest Big City in America” via @TheEconomist & @Gallup
One homicide is one too many. We can’t settle. We won’t settle.
“Urban Crime Is Falling, Despite What Fear-Mongering Politicians Tell You”

Once again, I find myself standing in a cemetery, preparing to bury a young person that hasn’t seen 21 years on this earth. We’re all trying, but we need to succeed. Nothing more, nothing less.
Thank you Tara Mosely from @WinnCompanies for your years of dedicated, tireless service to the URIAH Board and residents of the New Academy Estates Housing Community. I’m glad that I didn’t ruin the surprise!!!!
And thank you Miss Gloria Bowers for all that you do!!!

Thank you @Yablo617, @bostonpolice, @BHA_Boston, BHA Police, and @_SBNH. It was a productive meeting this morning on site at the Mary Ellen McCormack development. Let’s continue to work together to support public safety initiatives and opportunities for our youth.
The second Mary Ellen McCormack walk-through was extremely successful. I want to thank Councilor @EdforBoston, Captain Boyle from @bostonpolice District C-6, Caitlyn and Cam from @_SBNH, and Lydia, Nick and Chief Benford from @BHA_Boston for coming out. More to come 👊🏿
Thank you to Caitlyn and Cam from @_SBNH for the walking tour through @BHA_Boston’s Mary Ellen McCormack Development. We walked Logan Way, Gavin Way, Msgr O’Callaghan Way, and did recon on the Youth Space at 10 Logan Way. More to come next week!
Thank you Masika G, Esa B, and Yesenia A. for your unwavering support and work that you all put in to serve families impacted by violence. You all are very appreciated.
By strengthening the collaboration between the Mayor’s Office and the Boston Hospital Collaborative and expanding our real-time communication post-incident the work has never been more systematized.
Thank you Rusti, you’re a lifesaver (literally).
