I learnt the fundamentals of open-source journalism from @BenDoBrown , and his training played a big role in shaping my OSINT journey. For anyone who has admired my investigative work and wondered where to start, this is a great course to get you going!

This is most likely a 105mm M1, a High-Explosive-Fragmentation (HE-Frag), spin-stabilised projectile, consisting of a hollow steel body with a boat-tail base.
These are dangerous unexploded ordnance. Which makes me wonder how this ended up in the hands of a ‘fisherman’ in Lake Victoria?! cc @Odangaring

Two years ago, I worked on this visual investigation for @NationAfrica. What I didn’t realize then was that I was documenting a pivotal moment in Kenya’s modern history.
By monitoring the hashtag #RejectFinanceBill2024, we captured how online anger steadily evolved into mass protests on the streets of Nairobi and other towns across the country.
Using 3D reconstruction, we built a minute-by-minute forensic timeline that mapped the events leading up to the moment protesters stormed Kenya’s Parliament.

One hundred days ago today, while lawmakers gathered to vote on the Finance Bill 2024, Kenyan youth took to the streets. Their rallying call to reject the Finance Bill 2024 in its entirety had succeeded in inspiring thousands of protesters to gather and occupy parliament.
