The Yankees need a lot of ifs to work out for a World Series run this year. Volpe is looking at a change of scenery trade in the winter. More on the Podcast:

Bringing the Yankees into a Rays-Brewers World Series doesn’t even make sense. Particularly when Jake Bauers played a grand total of 84 games with the team. That said, the Boone-Cashman era opened the door for this.
Losing to a team you picked to face would lead to some serious trolling.
The Yankees were swept in a series where they started Gerrit Cole, Cam Schlittler, and Max Fried. The rosters keep changing but they have to overcome the pressure in a big series. That has not happened in the Boone/Cashman era.
It's the same story every postseason with the offense, and more recently the defense has also been a thorn. It's only a crapshoot if you play like crap.
Yankees need some homers on the board in this series. They aren’t going to beat them via small ball.
The rotation has to remain the biggest strength. They have the pitching to shut teams down.
