Jolt 0.1.0-rc.1 is finally out! ⚡️
I've been keeping this one pretty quiet and working on it A LOT. Well, the @NativeScript folks knew haha.
If you know me, you know how much I love animations. And honestly, Jolt has been one of the most exciting projects I've ever worked on.
It's an animation library for NativeScript: springs, gestures, layout animations, shared transitions... so many of the things I love spending hours playing with and getting right.
I could've kept working on it forever before calling it an RC 😅 But at some point, I need to put it in other people's hands. I want to see what you build, what breaks, and what you wish it could do. It needs more than just my own perspective to get better.
And of course, I had to build an app with it. The Tesla-inspired app in the video uses @VueNativeScript, Jolt and vue-router-ns. Building actual apps is still my favorite way to push these libraries and find out where they need more work.
@vuejs has a dedicated integration today, and I’m planning to bring that experience to more frameworks. A few other projects are on the way too 👀
I spent a long time away from the community, helping build other people's dreams. Now I'm putting that same energy into my own. Into what I love and what I believe in.
It feels really good to be back and finally share this with you. ❤️
Give it a try, break things, send me ideas, or just reach out for a chat. I'd love that.

@shadcn on web & @NativeScript same UI on iOS, Android, Windows, and the browser.
Running on MasonKit (beta). I've been helping @triniwiz build it where I can and we want more testers. Break it, leave feedback.

Reminder you can use @shadcn components in @NativeScript with MasonKit (beta)
Wanted to test how web-compatible MasonKit (a little layout lib I've been building for @NativeScript) really is, so I threw shadcn/ui at it.
Same React components → real native views. No WebView.

Quite a bit has happened with vue-router-ns since that Airbnb demo
Native iOS drawers are here now, and one thing I'm really happy with is how they adapt. You can go from an overlay to a permanent sidebar without recreating your pages. Your navigation stacks, page state and the draft you were writing stay right there.
I've also added shared page actions. You define an action once and use it in the native header, context menus and keyboard shortcuts, with the same enabled and busy state across them.
There's a diagnostics viewer now too. You can open an exported report and compare what the router thinks is happening with the actual native stacks. Pretty useful when you're trying to understand why a navigation went sideways haha.
And of course I ended up building another app to put everything together. This time it's Fieldnotes, with drawers, native search, shared actions, guarded edits and modal results.
The rc.4 docs are also up, now in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Simplified Chinese.
I'm still holding off on v1.0.0 while I work through a few upstream issues and finish validating the setup I want to support.
One of those is an iOS startup crash I tracked down in @NativeScript Core and opened a fix for. I want to test that with a published Core release before calling this v1. There are also a few API compatibility decisions and final checks I want to finish.
Working on this has taken me further into @NativeScript and @VueNativeScript than I expected, and I've really enjoyed being able to contribute fixes back along the way. I'll link some of that work below.
Still plenty to test, but man, I'm happy with how this is coming together. If you try it in an app, I'd love to hear how it goes ❤️
And if you want to chat, report a bug or suggest improvements, feel free to reach out. I'd love to hear from you!

We just released vue-router-ns v0.1.0-rc.2! 🎉
I've been awake for almost two days working on @NativeScript projects. I know, I seriously need some sleep 😂 But man, I'm having so much fun with this.
One thing I really enjoy when building a library is creating actual apps to see how far I can push it. Not just small demos, but something that really puts everything to the test.
So I built this Airbnb-inspired app using @VueNativeScript and vue-router-ns.
Native tabs with independent navigation stacks, zoom transitions, long-press previews, sheets, back gestures, navigation restoration... all coordinated through the router, using native components from NativeScript, UIKit and Material.
And I have to say, I'm really happy with how it turned out.
The whole point of vue-router-ns has always been to make building native apps with @vuejs feel natural, without giving up what makes native navigation so good.
We're not even at v1 yet, and there's still plenty to improve, test and probably break along the way haha.
But seeing things like this actually working is what makes all those hours worth it.
Really proud of this little project. ❤️

I've been spending a lot of my free time playing around with Jolt and vue-router-ns, and I finally have something I'm really excited to share.
Everything you see here was built with @NativeScript /@VueNativeScript , Jolt for animations, and vue-router-ns for navigation.
I wanted to push both libraries a bit further and see how smooth and performant I could make a real app.
And here's something that genuinely surprised me...
I had already built this same app in React Native using Reanimated. Same computer, same simulator, and so far the @NativeScript version has actually performed better.
Now, before getting too excited, there's still A LOT to test, especially on real devices. I'm not claiming anything just yet. I want to properly measure things and understand how both versions behave.
Neither Jolt nor vue-router-ns has even reached v1 yet. There's still so much to build, fix, and improve, and I've been putting pretty much all my free time into them.
But man, seeing everything come together like this feels incredible.
I'm really proud of how far they've come, even if there's still a long way to go.
I'll keep sharing what I find as I run more tests. The good stuff, the bad stuff, all of it.
Just really happy right now. 😅❤️

Been experimenting with turning Nuxt app into actual native mobile app using @NativeScript
The idea is to take an existing Nuxt app and run it natively on iOS/Android, without rewriting everything. Just by adding some directives and composables. Thanks to the work of @triniwiz and his masonkit
Especially considering how this could work with Vue Vapor and its smaller runtime
Still early, but here's the first preview 👀
@nuxt_js @vuejs #crossplatform #nativeapps
And the exact same code running as a native Windows app.
