C
This is Psalm 6.
It comes from David. Not from a palace speech. From a night when a young king was weak, his bones vexed, his soul sore vexed, and he asked the oldest question in the Book:
“but thou, O LORD, how long?”
He watered his couch with his tears.
Then the turn came.
“The LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.
The LORD hath heard my supplication;
the LORD will receive my prayer.”
This goes out to the people of Iran.
This goes out to the people of Nigeria.
This goes out everywhere a soul is seeking the children of God.
If you are hiding to pray, if the night is long, if they hate you for His Name, this psalm was written for a man in that place.
David was not posing.
He was crying.
And Heaven heard him.
You do not have to be strong to come.
You have to come.
“Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me.”
The children of God are not a nation with a flag.
They are everyone who receives the Son.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” — John 1:12
Iran.
Nigeria.
Every house.
Every prison.
Every quiet room.
The Lord hath heard the voice of your weeping.
Psalm 6.
A Psalm of David.
In the Name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
