Women who sleep with men casually have helped destroy marriage and commitment. Give me two seconds to explain. Modern dating has created one of the strangest contradictions: A woman can sleep with a man she would never marry and think: “I don't want anything from him but sex, so I don't care about his character. But the man I marry? He needs to meet all my standards.” Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Think about what that teaches men. The man receiving the least commitment from her faces the lowest barrier to intimacy, while the man offering the greatest commitment can face the highest barrier to intimacy. The casual guy doesn't need to become a husband. He doesn't need to provide stability. He doesn't need to build a future with her. Yet he receives something all men deeply value: sexual intimacy. Then “husband material” arrives and suddenly there is an enormous qualification process. Career. Income. Character. Stability. Emotional maturity. A future. Commitment. Marriage. And then intimacy is treated as something he has to continually qualify for. Women sometimes look at these two men and assume one must inherently have more character than the other. Not necessarily. Sometimes one man simply learned earlier how to get what he wanted without commitment, while the other learned that achievement, discipline and responsibility were necessary to get what he wanted. Different strategies. Same basic human desire for intimacy and connection. And here's where modern dating created its own problem: When sex became completely disconnected from commitment, commitment lost one of the incentives that historically helped move relationships toward exclusivity and marriage. Then people turned around and asked: “Why won't men commit anymore?” “Why do men only want sex?” “Where are the marriage-minded men?” You helped create the dating market you're complaining about. 🥴 And men aren't innocent either. Men who encourage casual sex while simultaneously complaining that women aren't “wife material” are participating in the exact same culture. You cannot normalize the behavior and then complain about the people that behavior produces. So what's the solution? Stop participating in the very thing you complain about. Don't accept casual sex when it's convenient and suddenly demand commitment when you want something different. Don't give relationship benefits to people who aren't building a relationship with you. Men: stop expecting access to women without consequences Women: stop expecting commitment to become valuable while rewarding men who offer none. Be consistent. Because you don't fix modern dating by demanding that everyone else change first. You fix it by refusing to participate in the behaviors that created the problem. Your actions don’t just affect you… They trickle down into cultural expectations.
