It's fascinating to me that superheroes actually *saving people* has basically just stopped being a thing. Most superhero movies these days are about some greater-scope threat to the whole world/universe. Gone are the days of superheroes saving random civilians from being mugged.

I do think the concept of vigilante superheroes is outdated. They were made in an era where violent crime was wildly more common than today and it's becoming increasingly difficult to consider them without thinking in larger more structural terms.

Sex is supposed to be messy. There’s nothing like perfectly decent intercourse. You’re supposed to be vulnerable, lose your composure, make funny faces, sweat, laugh, and do things you would never do in public. How do you expect to be completely comfortable with someone sexually if you’re busy worrying about looking presentable the entire time? Intimacy requires a level of vulnerability that goes beyond looking sexy.
