Be on the look out for the next episode of Reformed by the Word: A P&R Podcast from @prpbooks. I had a great time interviewing Dr. Douglas Sean O'Donnell (of @crossway) about his commentary on Ecclesiastes and the companion Bible study volume published a couple of years ago. The episode should drop next week!

Thank you, @prpbooks for the review copy of @jonathanlcruse's new children's book, "The Upside-Down Inside-Out Can't-Believe-It Kingdom." The story itself presents a basic gospel presentation highlighting the heavenly wisdom of the Kingdom of God. I especially appreciated the encouragement for sin-weary readers (or hearers) to come to Christ for spiritual life. The writing is easy to read (or for our little ones, listen to) and understand, and the artwork is excellent. The only issue I have is that we CANβ€”even, MUSTβ€”believe it, but only by the Spirit's power! As a father of six (and a pastor of a church of 50% small children), I heartily recommend this book to you! Link in thread below!

The video got a little washed out upon upload, but you get the idea... we need more parking, and the Lord will provide! Take a walk with me to check it out.
Take a walk on our new (future) parking lot at Antioch. Pastor Groff first lays out the opportunity this lot is meeting. Then, he addresses the long-term purpose of this project as it fits into our vision for church-planting and ministry vitality in Spartanburg County.

The Lord will provide! This improvement project is truly mission-critical as it will enable us to more effectively gather God's people (hospitality and parish evangelism), ensure the safety of our families (pastoral care), witness to our neighbors (responsible stewardship), accommodate numerical growth (biblical worship and discipleship), and give all the glory to God. Is He leading you to help? Follow the link below, or reach out for more information.
What began with 11 people committed in the fall of 2020 has grown to 126 members six years later. PTL! We are expanding the parking lot into the upper field (pictured below). How much will it cost? $50k (for crushed run) or $90k (for paved). Help through the giving link below. TY

It's been a while, but I was glad to write "The Value of Wisdom" for an ongoing series hosted by the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals (@confessevangel) blog "Theology for Everyone" on The Place for Truth page. In the expositional reflection, I observe the supreme value of wisdom as it is described in Proverbs 3:13-36. In fact, Christ Himself is Wisdom incarnate. Nothing is more valuable, and we are called to live with Him now and forevermore. In Christ, we are incalculably rich! You can read more in the link included in the thread below.

God doesn't just host dinner parties for His friends. He prepares a place for us to live in His house: the household of faith.

When God calls Himself β€œImmanuel” (translated β€œGod with us”), He means it.

C-SPAN and C-SPAN2 were my favorite channels when I was a kid. Never-ending educational value AND wholesome amusement.
I was trying to explain why C-SPAN is great to my wife and all I could do was dig out the video of Gerald Ford eulogizing an onion.

"In the beginning, God created..." We are looking forward to welcoming pastor, author, (and my friend) C. R. Wiley to Antioch for what promises to be a fantastic conference on Saturday, November 14th. He'll also be filling the Old Antioch pulpit in our morning service on the 15th. Please consider joining us. Register now, as spots are limited. Beginning at 10 AM on Saturday of the conference, we will consider "The Cosmic Mandate for a Productive Household" and "Reflecting Our Creator-Redeemer" before breaking for lunch and afternoon fellowship. Doors will open at 9:30 AM, and childcare will be provided for the two morning sessions. Registration is required. At 6:30 PM, Pastor Wiley will lead a casual men's hangout discussion around his latest book, "Manmade: Saint Anthony's Guide to Surviving the A.I. Apocalypse." In morning worship on the 15th, Pastor Wiley will continue the theme, and I will close out the Lord's Day with a sermon on promoting a gospel culture of spiritual (and physical) life and vitality in our evening service. We'd love for you to join us.

It's great to have Dr. Pipa back from a recent ministry trip (to the other side of the planet)
