When most people look at an American flag, they feel pride and patriotism for their country. When James Talarico looks at an American flag, he sees it as a "complicated symbol." People who disdain this country shouldn't have power over it.

Good grief, it's so simple.
When voting in America, ask a simple question: Which of these two candidates will enact better and more righteous policies? Then vote for that candidate.

It’s truly mind-numbing to see so many people respond to @MikeWingerii's request for a biblical defense by calling him a charlatan, dishonest, and various other profanities. Even if you disagree with his view or method, it is profoundly sub-Christian to stoop to such name-calling. Bad character is in high supply in every tribe. But I can confidently conclude that the biggest thing keeping good people from considering Christian establishment is the rejects online.
I love Mike's commitment to the Scriptures. But isn't this like asking for a robust biblical defense of a democratic republic? Or a constitutional monarchy? Or modern accounting for that matter?

There is so such thing as a 'moderate Democrat.' Every Democrat wants to open our borders. Every Democrat wants to raise your taxes. Every Democrat wants the Green New Scam. Every Democrat wants men in girl's bathrooms. And every Democrat running for office will vote with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer virtually 100% of the time.

I move that men call each other "hoss" more. Morale would immediately improve.

The romanticism around voting among Christian leaders has always struck me as odd. As if God is pleased simply by the act of people voting. “Go vote” is such a useless call to action unless you’re exhorting people against certain candidates and advising them to choose the least bad option.

This is one of the faces of the Democratic Party: the same party that has overseen the mass slaughter of unborn children, exceeding Hitler’s Holocaust by an order of magnitude. The decades-long, screeching horror of abortion is the sacrament of the Democratic Party. Still, many professing Christians will vote for whoever is outwardly nicer.
Meanwhile she’s yammering on about “the joy of children” at an abortion celebration.

I have asked people to point me to a resource that gives a robust defense of Christian Nationalism from Scripture. I have not yet seen a source that even attempts this. If you have one please link or reference it below. But, because I know many will have lots to share and much of it may not be anything I asked for, please note in your comment if your resource is... 1. A defense of Christian Nationalism from the text of Scripture and not from broad principles narrowly applied. This is all I am asking for. Appealing to history or the reformers will be uninteresting to me unless they are a source which does the very thing I am requesting (I mean, sure, it's interesting, but not in relation to this request). 2. A ROBUST defense such that actual analysis of passages is thorough enough to establish BOTH interpretation and application into Christian Nationalism. 3. A clear enough version of Christian Nationalism that it isn't indistinguishable from what every Christian already thinks. For example, defining CN as "Jesus is Lord" is unhelpful in much the same way as defining macaroni and cheese merely as "food" is unhelpful. A good apologetic for the view being biblical would need to defend a particular view and not something so broad that one has only defended principles that just as could easily be extrapolated into opposing views. I genuinely would not only submit to CN but would openly and publicly advocate for it if someone can show it is solidly biblical.

Replying to @MikeWingerii
Because “Christian Nationalism” can seemingly mean anything from “Christians should vote for Christian values” to “Hitler was actually a Christian Prince”, this is tough. Strongly recommend @james_d_baird’s book King of Kings

“I’m too selfish to function in marriage, so the problem is marriage, not me.”
“Wicker” shows just how suffocating marriage can be—and asks whether the institution is simply incompatible with love, @fhill_official writes: theatlantic.com/culture/2026…

I'm not sure Eric realizes this is Liam Gallagher levels of confidence. And I guess if he does...respect? 😂
If your kid's "Christian" college isn't inviting @MrsErikaKirk to speak -- or inviting me -- you should rethink paying tuition there. We are in an existential crisis. Know which side you're funding.

It’s pretty important for this message to spread among conservative pastors. It’s funny to see the tax-exempt scare tactic used so much on the left. Meanwhile, Raphael Warnock is literally a pastor in my city 😂.
A couple things on this, because progressives use this to bully and intimidate (conservative) pastors into silence: 1) While I am very clear about the evil of many policies currently being advanced by the DNC and CLEAR moral asymmetry between the proposed policies of the parties, I do not endorse candidates right now. 2) Progressives selectively report churches to the FFRF every year. You'll never see this article about the (primarily AA) churches Democrats are in every week leading up to an election. It's an attempt at street-level lawfare. 3) Articles like this are toothless and you should just chuckle at them. We have a lawyer that argues Religious Liberty cases before SCOTUS at Lakepointe. No church in US History has ever had their tax exempt status removed for a sermon, much less for one in which a candidate was not even endorsed. 4) In the words of a couple knowledgable guys I consulted with, it's a harassment and intimidation tactic to silence pastors. Intent of this post isn't to be combative, but I have realized this fear has intimidated some pastor friends and after looking into it, wanted to remove that fear. BOTTOM LINE: You are 100% free to be clear with your people about the (radical) moral asymmetry between the current proposed policies and ideologies of the parties AND to encourage your people to vote as an application of the command to be “the salt of the earth” and to “seek the welfare of the city” and to “live your neighbor”.

How to vote as a Christian in America in 2026 is not complex. A common ploy among evangelicals with left-leaning sensibilities is to nuance voting to death. They know it’s morally indefensible to support the Democratic Party of Death, but they so loathe conservatism that they need a way to persuade Christians not to vote Republican. Enter the Character Argument: “How can Christians support Ken Paxton, a noted adulterer? Aren’t we the people who should demand better? Doesn’t character matter?” Character does matter. It’s lamentable that vanishing few politicians have good character. But this line of argumentation abandons reason on a number of fronts. Here are a couple. 1. The active support of evil is itself emblematic of low character. Joe Biden and James Talarico are outwardly calm and genteel men. Yet both actively support the mass murder of unborn children, the desecration of marriage, and the erasure of creation-order gender distinctions. They are pursuing the success of evil. That makes them evil. Supporting straight-line violations of God’s Law is to be an evil person—the embodiment of low character. 2. Voting is first and foremost about supporting a candidate who most upholds justice and laws consistent with the will of God. Voting has always been about this. Character is not irrelevant, but a vote supports a public agenda. Supporting a Democratic candidate is therefore obviously sinful and wrong. One of the Enemy’s most subtle tactics is to nuance morally simple issues. Resist this.
