Disappointment.
This was not the web3 gaming that was promised to me when I first joined.
Asset ownership. Interoperability. Player owned economy. Transparency.
The past two years, I was still trying to give benefit of doubt that some of these games need more time to develop.
But the truth is… majority of them gave up, shut down, mostly because of mismanaging of the VC fundings and fail to make revenue.
Most were extracted in one way or another.
The farmers came to farm most of the play-to-airdrops and left.
The REAL gamers were the one left bag holding and believed in the “dream.”
It fucking hurts and feels very bad.
The only way crypto gaming can come back is by building a game that people want to play.
The blockchain, onchain transactions, and everything should be on the back end.
Gamers don’t need to know how it works, we just want to play the game. We will figure out the mechanics of buying, selling, trading items, currencies, and etc once we’re hooked.
Anyways… it’s not easy to build a game, let alone, a crypto game.
Crypto gaming is the final boss of crypto.
A long shot, but worth another try.

This is exactly what I was talking about in my post yesterday.
Over the past year, I've watched more and more people try to distance Web3 gaming from Play-to-Earn, as if the concept itself was the problem.
It wasn't.
Play-to-Earn was the value proposition that brought gamers in. The failure was in building sustainable economies around it.
Abandoning that value proposition instead of figuring out how to deliver it properly is a massive mistake.
We shouldn't be moving away from P2E. We should be building it better.

Spent 6 years of my life trying to educate web3 on bad actors and ethically help things forward, through constant harassment + death threats
My only conclusion is people love donating to terrible people.

Giga Legends mint details. 🫡
There were a few groups we would've loved to cover with the Giga Legends mint, such as:
- Gigaverse players (especially high ranking performers in our recent Awakening competition).
- Abstract goats: high XP loyalists who committed a lot of time & capital to the chain where we first launched.
- Top collab partners & communities we respect, many of whom reached out. Could've been great to gamify collabs (as a GTM guy I had many ideas here).
But ultimately, including any criteria or group outside of existing NFT holders, would just dilute the conversion for our holders, and increase the terminal supply size of this important collection.
So - putting all good intentions and fun / gamified inclusivity ideas aside - the bottom line is, you will have to own GLHFers or ROMs to get a Giga Legend, and that will be the only way.
We'll open the mint in a couple weeks.
