Another year around the sun with TLOML Happy birthday to me✨
When I was younger, one of my biggest fears about marriage was losing myself. I have always been ambitious. I knew I wanted to build things, work, create, lead and make an impact. So I was genuinely scared that marriage would come with someone telling me to slow down, quit working or somehow make myself smaller. I had even been in a relationship where I was told I would have to change my name from Alice to Sarah because the man’s name was Abraham 😂 So I knew what I didn’t want and I also knew what I wanted. I wanted a kind and God loving man. Someone who would support my dreams and never make me feel like I had to choose between being a wife and being the woman I was created to become. My friends used to joke that the kind of man I wanted didn’t exist. I told them I didn’t care how long it took. I was ready to wait. Then I met @_289volts 🥰 Nine months later, we were married. And today, I can confidently say that saying YES to him has been one of the best decisions of my life. He has stood beside me through everything. He has supported and believed in ideas that probably sounded completely crazy at the beginning. He watched me start, stop, build, change direction, make mistakes and start again. He has never asked me to dim my light. If anything, he has made it easier for me to become the woman I want to be. There is a particular kind of peace that comes from knowing that the person you married genuinely has your back. I know that if I decided tomorrow that I didn’t want to work anymore, I would still be okay because I know I’m covered and loved. Babe, you are EXTREMELY kind to me, our family and everyone else. You have a heart that I admire deeply and I honestly thank God that I get to experience that heart up close. I know what I prayed and waited for, and I know what God gave me. He gave me YOU. You are way more than I asked for. You are my EVERYTHING. If there is such a thing as another life after this one, I pray I find you there too because in this life, I would choose you again and again. Happy birthday, my love @_289volts My prayer for you this new year is that God surprises you in ways you never imagined. May He bless the work of your hands, increase you in every area of your life, give you wisdom, favour, peace and joy. Thank you for being my safe place. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for letting me be fully Alice. Thank you for never asking me to become smaller. I love you deeply @_289volts 🥰 Happy birthday to my exceptional husband. I would choose you in this life and if God gives me another one, I’m choosing you there too. I love you muchly ❤️

I saw another developer’s portfolio some weeks ago and I wanted to hire them even though I had no job offer. I knew I wanted something like that for myself. A portfolio that feels intentional and tells MY story. Built with Claude code Check it out 🔗: rashedatjinadu.com/

Another demo day 🤩 Today, I’m speaking with a social media agency owner in the US that spends $500 monthly to run her agency. She also has a very active social media manager community and we’ll be showing them what @sociorolla can do for their agencies 🥳

Your approval process shouldn't become a second onboarding process. Your client already has enough logins to remember. Send the content for review, let them comment, upload media (if necessary) and approve it without a login. Keep the workflow moving with SocioRolla 🥳

We’d rather shutdown the company than owe anyone.
Actually, I’ve been a fully bootstrapped co-founder that’s employed multiple people for the past three years and never owed anybody, you know why? We work with our capacity and when the rail ends, we don’t tell people to continue working based on uncertain promises.

I see some people building with passion driving the cart and I just laugh😅 You’ll learn soon enough that passion will be the end of you as a startup founder. Build for the people that’ll pay you📌

We’ve been running @remoteworkpadi bootstrapped for more than a year now and even if it’s not been the best of journeys, God be praised. In all, cut your coat according to your size and you’ll be able to sleep well at night✨

Many of the founders you are dragging, 80% of them are running the startups with their personal fund. Do you know how many times I have considered wrapping up my own startup but when I remember those in my employment… Pulling the plug will make more people unemployed, so I just continue to use the money I suppose to use in buying Dangote IPO to pay salary. If every startup that is not profitable shutdown, do you know how many people will become unemployed? You all should go and start your own business and know how easy it is.

Part 2 of my 8-part series on authentication and authorisation in microservices is out: Verifying tokens without calling Accounts every time At some point, a seemingly simple question becomes important: If Accounts issued the token, does every other service need to call Accounts before it can trust it? That question gets more interesting when the same user belongs to multiple organisations, and their access depends on which organisation they are currently operating in. In this chapter, we follow one user across two organisations and use that journey to work through the problem. I’ve also made a few updates to Part 1 based on some of the questions and feedback I received after publishing it, so it may be worth revisiting before jumping into this one. As with the first chapter, the goal isn’t just to show where we ended up, but the problems that pushed us there and the tradeoffs we accepted along the way. blog.lordsarcastic.dev/artic…
I am writing an 8-part series on authentication and authorisation with microservices, using a real product I built as a case study. A huge percentage of developers never get to see microservices up close, to get to know what it feels like. They know "monolith before microservices" but the "whys" isn't ingrained in experience or anything they watched up close. I am giving folks that opportunity. Also, if you've built systems like this before, this is a good chance to learn another way of doing things. I won't have a set cadence on the posts but I'll be as regular as I can. blog.lordsarcastic.dev/artic… Lemme know if you have any comments
