#Illini Brad Underwood on the 'constraints-led approach' which Tyler Underwood has installed this year, and his initial reaction to it... Fantastic question from @jenozenojeno and a really fascinating answer from Coach:

Dallas Mavericks | 0.5 Decisions “Shoot it, Drive it, Move it” within 0.5 seconds of the catch to maintain an advantage. Perfect example from Dallas of using drives, kicks, and swings to keep the defense in rotation before converting the advantage with the Johnson layup.

Sort of a triple drag flare/Oklahoma(?) from Detroit Pistons know that anyone who's guarding Ausar will be looking to tag the roller, great way to use Thompson's negative gravity as a screener here. Great effort by Brunson to recover into the play and contest on the 3.

anytime there's a ghost screen , to the overloaded side of the court . which in this case the screener is ghosting to the slot which ja is in, it's an offensive principle for ja to cut. same applies when a big pick and pops to the strong side . it's an automatic cut for the guy on the wing, to balance the floor and also give space to the ghost screener or pick and popper to be open off the action .

Celtics | Flare Actions vs Bulls 1. Flare 2. Flare Slip 3. Stagger Flare Celtics got a ton of mileage off of Flare actions against Chicago as a main trigger. Led to a lot of defensive breakdowns and easy looks from 3 and at the rim.

the biggest difference between the public and analytics models on rating nba players is the public tends to value players more for 1v1 skills rather than 5v5 skills. In 1v1, you either have the ball or are guarding the ball. In 5v5, you are offball a lot on both ends, spacing, passing, rotating, reading passing lanes, boxing out and rebounding, and dealing with a much more cluttered and complicated game. it's a different set of skills. nevertheless, the eyetest tends to focus on the 1v1 skills in the 5v5 game, because that's where the ball is. of course, the 1v1 skills are very important in the 5v5 game, but there's another group of skills that shift the evaluation. so in JB's case, i think he's a top 15 1v1 player in the league, but ranks lower in 5v5, because he's not as strong in the 5v5 skills.
U start to understand and appreciate how Kobe scammed 12 all defensive first teams

Dribbling through cones prepares players for real games about as well as driving in an empty parking lot prepares a 16-year-old for a 4-lane highway. Game-representative practice environments are where perception is refined while stagnant cones force 0 adaptability.

1. Triple Drag - Flare - Flip Triple drag set up. Green sets the flare for Huerter. Collins flips the screen after Philon cuts off Jenkins for a better screening angle. Collins gets into the short roll off the blitz from Philly for the layup.

2. Triple Drag - Flare - Finland Same setup, Holland sets the flare for Green. Huerter rip screens for Holland into a pindown from Smith (Finland). Jenkins makes something out of nothing, hits a tough pull-up. Would love to see it executed perfectly. Really cool action.

Silas Demary’s PnR playmaking on full display vs. Michigan State: Fears tags Hines, and Demary punishes the tag with a skip pass to Ross for the triple. Demary looking every bit of an All-American in exhibition play.
