D1 = LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITY D2 = LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITY D3 = LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITY NAIA = LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITY JUCO = LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITY USCAA = LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITY NCCAA = LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITY Stop letting a division label determine the VALUE of your opportunity. The goal is to find the right fit, earn an education, continue playing the game you love, and put yourself in position for what comes NEXT. Everybody’s path won’t look the same. It doesn’t have to. Take advantage of YOUR life-changing opportunity. 🎓🏈

🥎 URGENT PRAYER REQUEST FOR OUR LLG FAMILY 🥎 Please take a moment to lift up our LLG player, Haeva Jones, and her mom, Kate, in your prayers. Last night, while traveling home from a game, they were involved in a terrible car accident hit head on. Both Haeva and Kate are currently in surgery, and they and their family need all the love, strength, and prayers our softball community can offer right now. Our softball family is big, strong, and always rallies when our own are hurting. Please keep the doctors' hands guided, pray for strength and complete healing for both of them, and surround their family with peace during this unimaginably difficult time. Please share and keep them in your thoughts and prayers. 💛💙🙏 #LLGFamily #SoftballFamily #PrayersForHaevaAndKate #LLGStrong @Org_LLG @LlgMarshall

🚨 RECRUITS: YOUR SKILLS VIDEO CAN BE THE REASON A COACH KEEPS WATCHING… OR MOVES ON. College coaches don’t need a Hollywood production. They need to be able to EVALUATE YOU. 🥎 Your skills and mechanics video should give a coach a clear look at how you move, your fundamentals, your athleticism, and your ability at your position. So what do coaches actually want to see? 👀 🥎 HITTERS ➡️ Full swings from multiple angles ➡️ Front toss and/or live pitching ➡️ Bat path and lower-half mechanics ➡️ Ability to drive the ball to different parts of the field ➡️ Game-speed swings — not just perfectly selected clips ➡️ Slappers: different types of slaps, footwork and speed out of the box 🥎 MIDDLE INFIELDERS ➡️ Balls hit directly at you AND to both sides ➡️ Forehand and backhand ➡️ Footwork around the bag ➡️ Quick transfers ➡️ Throws on the run ➡️ Arm strength and accuracy ➡️ Double-play feeds/turns 🥎 CORNER INFIELDERS ➡️ Routine ground balls ➡️ Forehand/backhand range ➡️ Slow rollers ➡️ Bunts ➡️ Quick transfers ➡️ Throws across the diamond 🥎 OUTFIELDERS ➡️ Fly balls ➡️ Ground balls ➡️ Movement to both sides ➡️ Footwork and routes ➡️ Throws to bases/cutoffs ➡️ Arm strength and carry 🥎 CATCHERS ➡️ Receiving ➡️ Framing/presentation ➡️ Blocking ➡️ Pop and transfer ➡️ Throws to bases ➡️ Movement behind the plate 🥎 PITCHERS ➡️ Full pitching motion ➡️ Multiple pitches ➡️ Different camera angles ➡️ Location/command ➡️ Movement ➡️ Mechanics and repeatability ➡️ Velocity when available And one of the biggest mistakes I see? ❌ Only showing your BEST rep. Coaches want to see repeatability. One great throw doesn’t tell them nearly as much as several quality reps showing consistent mechanics, footwork and arm action. Your video also does NOT need: ❌ Long introductions ❌ Fancy transitions ❌ Loud music ❌ 30 seconds of graphics before you start ❌ Every clip you’ve ever taken Get to the softball. Your skills video should answer one question for a college coach: 👉 “Can I evaluate this athlete from what I’m watching?” Make their job easy. Clear video. Good angles. Multiple reps. Game-speed movements. Strong mechanics. Position-specific skills. And as you get stronger, faster and better — UPDATE YOUR VIDEO. The athlete you were six months ago may not be the athlete you are today. 🎥 Your video is one of your most important recruiting tools. Make sure it represents the player you are becoming. RECRUITING TIP 🚨 Athletes: don’t wait until you NEED an offer to start building relationships with college coaches. Your weekly routine should include: 🎥 Update your film 📊 Update your stats 📩 Contact schools that fit your level 📱 Engage with coaches/recruiting staff 🏈 Keep producing Recruiting isn’t one viral post or one DM. It’s consistent evidence + consistent communication. And before you start sending film everywhere, know what level you realistically project to play. That’s why evaluation comes first. — Clutch Culture Sports

It’s supposed to be hard, if it wasn’t hard everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great.

There’s a difference between wanting to play college softball and wanting to do what college softball requires.

Most athletes think following a coach on X gets them noticed. The coach seeing your film gets you noticed. Follow them. Then DM the position coach a highlight with your grad year and one sentence on why their scheme fits how you play.

🥎 STOP LOOKING AT COLLEGE DIVISIONS LIKE A HIERARCHY. D1 does not automatically mean “better” than D2. D2 does not automatically mean “better” than D3 or NAIA. There are NAIA and D3 programs that can compete with — and beat — D2 and D1 programs. Every division has strong programs. Every division has rebuilding programs. Every division has elite athletes. And every division has its own strengths and weaknesses. The label next to the school’s name doesn’t tell you: 🥎 How competitive the program is 🥎 How talented the roster is 🥎 How much playing time you’ll get 🥎 How good the coaching staff is 🥎 How strong the academics are 🥎 How much you’ll develop 🥎 How much financial aid you may receive 🥎 How happy you’ll be there One of the biggest mistakes recruits make is assuming: D1 → D2 → D3 → NAIA → JUCO That’s simply not how college softball works. Instead of asking, “What’s the highest division I can play?” Start asking: “Where can I compete, develop, contribute and have a great college experience?” Don’t let a division label cause you to overlook a program that could be an incredible fit. Find YOUR level. Find YOUR opportunity. Find YOUR school. — Coach Jennifer Turner

🚩🚩🚩🚩 Meets you once at a camp Changes your hitting/pitching/throwing form You do, because you desperately want to prove you’re coachable They never see you again and never have to take accountability for the effect - good bad or disastrous 🚩🚩🚩🚩 Athletes…you don’t have to let every single person come in your house and start rearranging the furniture You need to get final say, always. Try all the things, be respectful, but YOU get final say where the kitchen table goes

Pitchers, You’re more than the one throwing the ball. You’re the competitor, the tone-setter, the leader, and the one who embraces the pressure when the game is on the line. 🥎🔥

The next level doesn’t just want talented players. It wants competitors. Leaders. Teammates. Students. Be more than your stats. Be someone a program wants to build with.

We need to stop making young athletes feel like anything below D1 is a consolation prize. September 1 gets treated like the entire future of a softball player comes down to whether a Division I coach calls. It doesn’t. Division I is an incredible opportunity! (for the players whose ability and fit match that level) But there is also D2. D3. NAIA. JUCO. Great coaches. Great programs. Teammates who become family. College degrees. And the opportunity to keep playing the game you love.
