A lot of you asked what I used to get Final Fantasy XIII looking this gorgeous next to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
So here’s exactly what I used:
• The FF XIII HD Project
• HD Models Plus
Both are available on Nexus Mods.
I’m playing FFXIII at 3840×2160 and 60 FPS. The mods mainly improve things like textures and character models, while the PC version itself can already run at 4K.
15 years apart, and FFXIII still has a lot more to show than people seem to remember.
If you haven't played it yet, give it a chance and try it with these mods.
Don't let the hate surrounding this game make up your mind for you. Play it yourself and see what you think.
After my Bloodborne posts, I've realized how much some OG Demon's Souls fans hate the remake.
Never played the original. The remake blew me away and still looks more next-gen than most PS5 games.
Maybe Bluepoint didn't ruin your masterpiece. Maybe nostalgia ruined your ability to appreciate it.
Those ridiculous “DLSS 5 slop” images going around are NOT the whole story.
I finally had time to mess around with it myself in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and honestly, people are massively overreacting.
The real trick is how aggressively you use it. Too much can completely change the look. Used properly, it can look phenomenal.
Tifa is much harder to get right. I think her in-game model plays a big part in that. Interestingly, I don’t have nearly the same issue with her in cutscenes.
It uses neural rendering to infuse pixels with photoreal lighting and materials while staying grounded in the game’s existing 3D content.
These games weren’t developed with this technology in mind. In the future, developers should account for it and tune things like intensity, color grading and masking to make sure their artistic vision is preserved for anyone who chooses to use it.
BUT...
At this performance cost? NO THANK YOU.
Quick update on HoYoverse’s Nodus Fall:
In a statement provided to PC Gamer following Gamescom, HoYoverse confirmed that Nodus Fall will not rely on a traditional gacha model.
Key monetization details:
• Free-to-Play structure
• All characters unlocked strictly through gameplay progression
• Monetization limited entirely to optional cosmetics and skins
A noticeable shift in strategy compared to Genshin Impact and their previous titles.

I swore off gacha games after Genshin Impact.
Then HoYoverse showed Nodus Fall.
I genuinely did NOT expect to be this impressed.
The dark fantasy world, the creature designs, the environments… this might be some of the most visually stunning work HoYoverse has ever done.
And apparently it’s a co-op action RPG built around fighting massive monsters.
I hate that I’m already interested. 😭
HoYoverse, what the hell did you just do?
Apparently saying that Final Fantasy XIII still looks surprisingly good next to Rebirth is controversial.
I'm not saying it's the better game...
While FFXIII on PC runs in native 4K out of the box, its original assets were heavily compressed for the 720p console era.
I use HD texture and model mods simply to fix that compression and bring the assets up to true 4K clarity, without altering the original art direction so it can be evaluated fairly against Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in native 4K with DLAA.
I'm trying to compare the pure visual design, not the output limitations of 2009 assets.
And that's where FFXIII is much closer than you'd expect.
It’s just about equal terms.
Zero visual assets were modified, I only raised the resolution so Final Fantasy XIII stands fairly next to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on modern displays.
This is still FFXIII, it doesn't change the art direction.
It's just interesting and not a bash

Why can't people look at 2XKO's demise with more nuance lol
• bad launch
• bad roster
• bad marketing (bad name)
• bad management
• bad gameplay direction
• no clear audience
It's not just one thing that lead to it failing to meet expectations

bro riot is inane
It feels like mark marrell has the company in a chokehold where if their game doesn’t make 1 billion dollars instantly he shuts it down
No community building, no thought of making a beautiful game just pure profit or die
With a heavy heart, the @Play2XKO team shares an update about the future.
- Active development will end in December.
- The final content patch goes live in October.
- Servers stay online.
- In-game purchases made before August 20 will be refunded.

Also this win should definitely make people actually shut the fuck up and let me voice my opinions on the game LMAOO
ACTUAL delusion to believe that I don’t like a game because I can’t be “good” at it.
This win was purely out of spite.
I had fun, Tokon just needs some work.

It has been a little over a month since I sold my PS5 Pro/Xbox and went all in on PC and man I do NOT regret it..
— the freedom
— Steam sales
— modding
— more control over how your game runs
— Steam overall is a great platform and love the layout and the customization of profiles
Best decision ever 🔥

A MaxDood uninstall has hit da Tokon😔
I really wanna play this game but this PC port is unacceptable
Back then, I thought Morrowind just wasn’t for me.
24 years ago, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind was released. I honestly just couldn’t get into it. The world felt strange, confusing, and completely different from anything I had played before. So I ended up giving my copy to my best friend.
And somehow, that one gift turned into his favorite game of all time.
Years later, it’s still funny to think about. A game I couldn’t connect with became a world he completely disappeared into. Sometimes the best gaming memories aren’t even about the games we love ourselves, but about the moments and people connected to them.
Happy Anniversary, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
