My mom’s old best friend seemingly had the best week of his life before he committed. As a kid I didn’t understand it at all. But he was genuinely living like he was gonna die the next day. He was knocking out bucket list items left and right. I had no clue what was to come.

whenever discussions about suicide come up i always return to this video. it’s the most poignant and empathetic thing i have ever heard someone say on the matter.

i dont think famous disabled people ever have to be activists or advocates, but you can tell he was so passionate and doing this from his heart trying to fight for others in an industry that casts people that are disabled aside

Bryan Cranston has written a tribute for his ‘Breaking Bad’ on-screen son RJ Mitte who tragically passed away due to suicide.
“We were texting each other just a few weeks ago - figuring out when we could meet for lunch. I don't know if that lunch would have changed his future... But I do know that I loved him.”

this was really hard to read. he started taking care of his family when he was only eleven and was still financially responsible for them. he never even got to be a kid

Genuinely such a sad thing to hear, and when you know about all he endured his whole life, it makes it more tragic.

"It has never been my disability, per say, that has been my weakness. It has been the perception of my disability that was my weakness."
So much respect and reverence deserves to be put on RJ Mitte's name. Rest in peace, an immensely talented actor and outspoken activist 🕊️

I heard the unfortunate news that RJ Mitte took his own life. I remember just three days ago, he liked this tweet I had to say on where I hoped Walter Jr. would be.
I'm incredibly shocked by the news. Rest in Peace, king.
Replying to @RjMitte
I always hoped he'd persevere through the trauma and make a positive impact, either by his own volition or driven to reprimand his father's sins

David Chase repeatedly did everything he could to make you realize that these characters were wrong and should not be looked up to and every day he must be punching walls

For a lot of people, RJ Mitte was the first example of a disabled actor being one of the most important parts of a prestige show or film. He was instrumental in showing that a disability doesn’t preclude one from delivering great work, and an inspiration. Rest in Peace.

beyond heartbreaking, his work on breaking bad was incredible and I think a big reason why ozymandias had a 10/10 IMDb rating was due to his performance being so powerfully shattering. just the fucking worst news ever. RIP

He was the first person I ever saw portrayed on TV with the same disability as me, and it wasn’t played as a joke or weakness. I met him, and he gave me a free autograph, asking me about my experiences with cerebral palsy. So kind, and so motivated to help others like him. R.I.P.
