Is anyone using Duolingo? Do you feel that it's been helpful long-term towards achieving your language learning goals? Or do you find that it's more about chasing in-app rewards and XP for little actual learning?
I'm about a week in, and I'm having mixed feelings.
Quick and dirty OutputDebugStringU() for UTF-8 strings, until OutputDebugStringA() accepts UTF-8.
I have to say our office is turning out pretty darn cozy. 😊
We've had the space for a few months already, but first there was renovation work needed, and then furniture to be delivered, and of course, actual machines that we could work on.
I don't understand why backspace on the phone is placed down next to enter. I don't know how many times I've just submitted the rubbish I wanted to delete, often with a few extra "mmm" at the end. The awkward placement gives it maybe a 50% hit rate at best.
A year ago, I wouldn't have understood why this isn't a tank and could easily have been misled by this tweet.
The reader added context is the best feature Twitter has added in ages.
As for why it's not a tank, short & long video:

According to official jargon, this object in the US military arsenal is also "Not A Tank," because something something something. Hence: official military jargon isn't about describing things for maximum clarity, it's about obscuring things in a web of useless faux-insider lingo
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is a self-propelled howitzer, not a tank. A tank is built to break through enemy line and destroy enemy opposition with direct fire. Howitzers' armor however is too thin to survive direct fire. They are designed to fight enemies spotted miles away with indirect fire.

If you need that much torque, you're likely to break the screwdriver. Certainly, a plastic handle would be at risk. I've also bent the head on a few flat screwdrivers over the years. Last week, I managed to entirely shatter a screwdriver using hands only (both hands).

Well, I look down on them. From like 10m above.
