I don’t personally need a Steam Machine. I already have a desktop PC and I’m comfortable building and maintaining my own hardware. So this isn’t coming from someone defending a product I want for myself. That said, a lot of the criticism seems to come from a place of elitism, even if it’s not always intended that way. Comments like “just build it yourself” often assume that everyone has the time, interest, knowledge, and desire to research parts, build a system, deal with potential issues, and optimize performance and thermals. For many people that simply isn’t the case. According to Valve’s latest Steam Hardware Survey, the majority of Steam users are still running RTX 30-series GPUs or older. RTX 40 and 50-series cards combined only make up roughly 25-30% of the user base. When people argue that you can easily build something much better for less money, they’re often speaking from an enthusiast perspective rather than reflecting what most Steam gamers actually have or want. Building something meaningfully better than the Steam Machine in a similar small form factor is also more expensive than many seem to realize. A realistic Mini-ITX/SFF build with a RTX 5070 Ti or 5080, 32GB DDR5, good cooling, and a quality SFX power supply currently sits in the $1900–2300+ range in parts alone. Small form factor components carry a premium, and current GPU and memory prices make high-performance compact builds noticeably more expensive. Recent testing from Gamers Nexus showed that the Steam Machine can handle most modern AAA titles reasonably well at 1080p and 1440p with sensible settings and FSR upscaling. It only really struggles in demanding ray tracing workloads. For what it is - a compact living room PC - that level of performance is perfectly usable for many people. It’s also worth noting that the Steam Machine has reportedly already sold out in Japan, even though official sales numbers aren’t available yet. Japan tends to value small form factors and living room gaming, so early sell-outs there indicate real demand for this type of device. The Steam Machine isn’t trying to be a high-end custom gaming PC. It’s a finished, compact system with official support, designed for people who want easy access to their Steam library on the TV without having to build or optimize anything themselves. That comes with clear compromises in raw performance and upgradability, but it also removes a lot of the hassle that comes with building and maintaining a small form factor PC. For the right person - someone who values convenience, size, and simplicity over maximum performance per dollar - it makes sense. For people who enjoy building and already have a capable desktop, it’s probably not the right choice. Both can be true at the same time.

Most people play 3 games per year, and even then rarely finish half of them. PS5 is a clear pick for 80% of gamers. Only top hardcore gamers might consider PC but they already have beefy PC with RTX5070Ti - and two consoles (switch + another one) on top of that.

🚨| Red Bull urged to consider Max Verstappen ban outside F1: — Juan Pablo Montoya has suggested that Red Bull should halt Max Verstappen's participation in racing events outside of Formula 1. This follows a tragic accident at the Nordschleife during the Nurburgring 24 Hours Qualifiers, which resulted in the death of driver Juha Miettinen. Verstappen was also involved in the event as he prepares for his debut in the 24-hour race next month. Montoya expressed his concerns on the MontoyAS podcast: “I have a question about this. I know that what happened is terrible. Do you think Red Bull would reconsider what permission they give Max to race those cars?” “No, because they are afraid of losing him.” — When asked if Red Bull should impose a ban on Verstappen racing outside of F1, Montoya was emphatic: “100 per cent. No, sorry. 200 per cent.” “There could be an accident, he could break his leg or arm.” “The money that Red Bull has invested in him should be enough reason to say, 'Look, we gave you the chance, but with this accident we are reconsidering it and we think that this should not happen'.” “Personally, I would have done it if I had been the boss of Red Bull.” “I would have called Max and said, 'Sir, please, don't get in the car anymore.' It's something I think they really need to reconsider.” — Montoya, reflecting on his own career, shared that he was often invited to participate in other driving opportunities, which were blocked by his team: “For example, it's true that several times during my career I was invited to drive rally cars and do tests.” “I would have loved that, but they never let me drive. You are investing in the driver - a big investment. Then you have to protect him.” #maxverstappen 🇳🇱 #redbullracing 🇦🇹 VIA: [RacingNews365]

Ny forskning: Laboratorieforsøg viser, at IgG fra patienter med #MECFS og post-COVID kan trænge ind i endotelceller, binde sig til mitokondrier og fremkalde fragmentering, som er forbundet med nedsat cellulær funktion.

To everyone commenting on or sharing opinions about John Davidson and the BAFTA 2026 incident: Let’s talk facts, not just feelings. John Davidson has lived with Tourette Syndrome for over 40 years. He’s one of the UK’s most respected advocates: awarded an MBE in 2019 for his work, executive producer and real-life inspiration for the BAFTA-nominated film I Swear (which just won awards at the 2026 ceremony), and he runs community support while educating people about the condition for decades. A small subset of Tourette’s (about 10%) includes coprolalia — involuntary swearing or slurs. These are not thoughts, beliefs, or choices. They’re neurological misfires in the brain, often triggered by stress, anxiety, or the very taboo nature of the words (because taboos make them “stick” in the brain’s wiring). It’s comparable to an epileptic seizure: you can’t “just hold it in” without making things worse for many people. John warned BAFTA/BBC in advance that anxiety would worsen his tics — they seated him near a microphone anyway, and the broadcast (on delay) wasn’t properly edited at first. In his first interview (Variety, Feb 24, 2026), John described feeling “a wave of shame” and “shame and embarrassment” when his tics ramped up. He left the auditorium early to avoid distressing others, has privately reached out to Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo, and others to apologize (even though he stresses: “My tics have absolutely nothing to do with what I think, feel or believe. It’s the opposite of what I believe.”), and he questions in hindsight whether the mic placement was wise. Ignorance is the real problem here — not the tic. Calling it “racism no matter what,” demanding public apologies as if it were intentional, or reducing him to “unacceptable” without context… that’s ignorance. It’s like berating someone with Parkinson’s for shaking or someone with autism for a meltdown. It fuels stigma, increases anxiety, and makes public life scarier for everyone with Tourette’s (many in the community are now sharing fears of leaving home, potential violence, or calls for isolation). It helps no one — not the people hurt, not John, not the Tourette’s community. And performative virtue-signaling — posting “black pain first” or “unacceptable no matter the reason” while ignoring the medical reality — is just that: performative. Empathy isn’t zero-sum. We can hold space for the pain felt by MBJ, Delroy Lindo, and others and understand that John didn’t choose this. BAFTA and BBC have apologized (BAFTA acknowledged the harm and his lifelong work; BBC for not editing the slur out of the delayed broadcast initially). They failed in duty of care — but punishing John for his neurology doesn’t fix that. Let’s learn instead of just punishing. If you encounter someone with Tourette’s (or any neurodivergence): Let the tics happen. Laugh along (if appropriate), ignore them, or offer quiet support — but never demand an apology for something involuntary. It reduces stress (which often worsens tics) and makes the world safer for them. And remember the old saying that still holds true: “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Words from a tic aren’t the person’s — they’re the condition’s. They carry no real weight unless we give it to them through ignorance instead of empathy. Thank you to John for decades of courage and advocacy. Let’s do better — choose understanding over outrage. ❤️

So @wbuxtonofficial would not have the stewards to do their job and let drivers break the rules and not pay the consequences. No just let them deal it out on track. Sure but then it would not be a gentlemans sport and why do we then have rules?! Dumb thing to state on camera!

yo @PdxInteractive fix your shit! I just changed my password via the forums application. But guess who still can't get in. It's like you know I'm trying to get access to write a request to ask for adding of true Windowed Mode for CK3 and not this forced Fullscreen Borderless Window Mode. I love the game; but today I started to hate your lazyness!

This is for @Pilestedt and @ShamsJorjani as well! Its great and all that you patch the game. But that s not the only big issue you need to look at. You really need to look at your staff and how they work. You have some of the most toxic and unhinged mods and CM's. I left the discord months ago because it was embarrassing to look at. Now you go and ban CC's for citing and screen share content from you public discord. As someone who have worked in support and customer service; I see a company that is easy to hve their feelings hurt and lash out. Decisions are often taken on hurt feelings rather then by logic and principles. On principles your game is lost. It has some very big potential; but your customer service is throwing shades all over you! Im referring to the ban of OhDough from your "public" discord server - youtu.be/3FfwkQeK0SM?si=tq3V…

It's insane how narrow minded so many Lando "fans" are. They are starting to argue that the switch back in Hungary was for Lando to be a teammate to Oscar. But in reality it was the team that made a huge mistake that essential gifted Lando P1. They then saw the huge mistake and asked Lando to remedy their mistake and give the lead to Oscar who had earned the lead at the start. Now they paint Oscar as the bad guy for taking the lead at lap 1. Well.. As history have shown us. The Bad Guys becomes WDC 😂

🇧🇪Not what we wanted today. Racing incident, but Oscar was too optimistic. He was never side by side and that move has never really worked in Spa. Congrats to the team and Charles on an encouraging result. We’ll keep pushing after the break! 👉carlossainz.es/en/carlos-sai…

So I read about a comment of a @PeterDWindsor about him comparing the end of the Australian go with Abu Dhabi 2021. You can compare those when the WDC is going to be decided at the Australian GP 2023. Oh wait.

It's a shame that Firefly din't get more seasons. I really liked @NathanFillion as a Space Cowboy. Atleast he reprised Mal back in Castle; that was a great littel cameo
