They must live within a lie. They need not accept the lie. It is enough for them to have accepted their life with it and in it. For by this very fact, individuals confirm the system, fulfill the system, make the system, are the system. - The Power of the Powerless, Václav Havel

It is extraordinary that clerics and scholars who have been banned in Muslim countries are allowed to 'preach' here
Could it be that the Home Secretary is a Muslim, whose religion hinders her attempts to be even-handed ?

Ant Middleton called for the RNLI to be defunded.
Now Portsmouth lifeboat station is temporarily off service after its volunteers faced abuse and hostility. Volunteers who risk their lives to save others are fearful for their own safety.
Words have consequences.

John Cleese is playing Birmingham Town Hall on Sunday.
Local extremist group Deen1fied are going after him.
They previously created the “Judenfrei” zone at the Villa v Maccabi game, amongst other stunts.
West Midlands Police had better be on their game.

Guess which country was just elected onto the steering committee of UN nuclear watchdog IAEA.
Go on...guess
The Islamic Republic of Iran
Really
This is why the UN is a completely unserious travesty of an organisation at this point

Another doctor or engineer arriving in Kent - or Hampshire- ready to assimilate into our green and pleasant land …
Yet, I was labelled as racist and ‘divisive’ by my former Conservative Party colleagues for calling this what is it is: an invasion.
Every single person who has arrived in this country illegally must be deported.
This is horrific. They all must go.
Posted 4hrs ago so will be in the UK very soon. Doesn't look like a doctor or engineer to me 🙄 @GBNEWS @PatrickChristys

Tahir Ashrafi rages against Ahmadi Muslims, using the derogatory term "Qadiyanis". He accuses them of "deceit", "fraud", and "misleading humanity". He brands the sect's founder a "devil".
He accuses Britain of creating this "tribulation", "to attack Islam, the Quran, and jihad".
"Speaking against Qadianism is interfaith harmony", says the man the Church of England presented with an "interfaith" award.
Ahmadis suffer vicious persecution in Pakistan, including murderous rioters and unspeakable terror attacks. Shame on the Church of England.

Meet Labour MP Tahir Ali. He wants to go to war with Israel and impose blasphemy laws in the UK. In his spare time, he campaigns for an international airport in Pakistan and rails against the ‘Indian lobby’. What is British politics becoming?, asks Hugo Timms

When a British Muslim MP will not condemn Iran for attacking Muslim countries, yet calls on Britain to stand against democracies, perhaps the question is no longer how many signs you need, but how many signs you are willing to ignore.
By their fruits you shall know them.
Britain’s values were not inherited so they could be surrendered in silence. When the words are this clear, what more are you waiting for, the writing on the wall?
BTW, ban the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran’s proxy in the West.

Heartbreaking. @SadiqKhan will you ignore his death like you’ve ignored the 636 arrests at Notting Hill carnival??

Does anyone remember before the election, when Labour promised they would be careful with our money?
They promised us they had fiscal rules.
They promised no return to huge borrowing.
They promised our kids wouldn't inherit this huge debt.
Let's see how that's going...

This is what Palestinian terror did to us on October 7. I am putting it here so you do not look away.
Every time I watch this video, my heart breaks all over again.
They just wanted to go out and dance. That is all. And they were murdered in cold blood.
I cannot imagine what was in their heads in those last moments. The terror. The pain.
Meet Dr Hari Reed, another Piddington resident.
Hari signed this open letter around a year ago…
Hari is also the joint CEO of the charity “Asylum Welcome”, who wrote the open letter.
Open letter coordinated by Asylum Welcome bel: -
“We are deeply concerned by the escalating hostility being directed towards people seeking asylum who are currently housed in our county. Dehumanising language, as well as actions such as intimidating asylum seekers or filming outside hotels, should have no place in our communities. They cause real harm, fuelling division and danger, and inflict fear and distress on already vulnerable people.
It is vital to remember that people in hotel accommodation are here because they are fleeing war, dictatorship, persecution, and terrorism. They are men, women and children seeking safety and waiting for their claims to be processed. They did not choose to live in hotels; the Home Office decides where they are housed. Families and individuals in our county have no control over these arrangements.
Vulnerable people are being used as a political football.
Our clients tell us they feel frightened and unwelcome when they see hostility directed at the places where they are forced to live. Many are already traumatised by what they have endured, and these actions deepen their isolation and despair.
At the same time, we also witness asylum seekers’ resilience, dignity, mutual solidarity and eagerness to contribute to British society. Their perspective, and the compassion shown by many local people, is too often missing from public debate.
Asylum Welcome has around 300 volunteers: local people who choose to give their time and energy to welcome newcomers. They see first-hand the difference that kindness makes — and they embody the Oxfordshire tradition of hospitality that should define us all.
Oxford and Oxfordshire are proud of their traditions of welcome. We call on political representatives, community leaders, and residents to affirm unity, reject hate, and ensure our county remains a place of safety.
Facts matter:
•Seeking asylum is a legal right under UK and international law, regardless of how someone arrives. Article 31 of the 1951 Refugee Convention — which the UK helped draft — makes clear refugees must not be penalised for entering a country irregularly to claim asylum.
•People in hotels are following the process required of them. The use of hotels is a Home Office policy, not the choice of asylum seekers, who are banned from working and survive on less than £10 a week for all essentials beside food.
•These are not “luxury hotels” – they are former hotels taken over and run by private companies working for the Home Office. Conditions are basic: shared rooms, poor-quality food, isolation, and long periods of waiting with no control over their lives.
•People seeking asylum are not a single group. They include families, children, LGBTQ+ people facing persecution, political activists, journalists, religious minorities, and young men escaping forced conscription. Men who make the journey ahead of their families are doing so because they are risking their own lives first, in the hope of later bringing loved ones through safe and legal routes — routes which are now extremely limited or closed.
•International law does not require refugees to seek asylum in the first safe country they reach. If it did, only border states would take responsibility, and the global asylum system would collapse. The UK currently receives fewer than 1% of the world’s refugees.
•There is no credible evidence that people seeking asylum commit more crimes than the UK-born population. Claims to the contrary are fuelled by misinformation.
We ask everyone in Oxfordshire to uphold our values of dignity, humanity, and neighbourliness. We stand together in solidarity with people seeking asylum.”

We don’t need the State banning things we wear treating us all like naughty schoolchildren to be monitored
We need the Police to actually police using the laws - of which we have plenty - without fear or favour
Not creating ever more laws and bans
You might think you sound ‘tough’ declaring banning all face masks but actually it’s a reflection of weakness. Authoritarian moves do not reflect authority. Quite the reverse
Now clambering to ban face masks - yet what makes Britain so exceptional has been the foundational principles and values that have been forged through struggle of generations to have freedom and privacy
Treating us all as potential criminals with live facial recognition to boot. Criminalising protest. Two tier. All of it is part of the same problem
That doesn’t change just because you suddenly like or dislike the issue or person

I'm afraid it's now predicted the energy Price Cap will rise 24% in January. The Cap applies to all firms' standard tariffs (bar in N. Ireland), so if you're not on a fix or special deal, you, like most people, are on it.
If you are on it, the safest thing to do is to fix, using a whole-of-market comparison such as MSE's CheapEnergyClub.com.
For far more help, including if you're already fixed, plus my interview with the Energy Secretary about what the Govt will do, watch last night’s full Martin Lewis Money Show Energy Special on itv.com/watch/the-martin-lew… itvX
