It was an absolute pleasure accompanying these young men as they voted for the first time. 💙 #IPSProud 💚 #TitanUp
These @arsenal_tech students (& first-time voters!) came over to the Ed Center to vote, & I remembered that I helped one of them get registered earlier this year! 💙 our students using their voices & being engaged! Sporting that blue, too! 👀#TitanUp #IPSProud #Vote #WeChooseIPS

Sis, you’re always on it. Thank you for the shoutout and congratulations 🎉 so looking forward to the opportunity to learn and grow with you, @MrsBTemple, and the rest of our cohort 💙
When I saw @_MissEDUcation_ and @MrsBTemple on the email for acceptance into @IPSSchools Aspiring Leaders Academy I yelled! Congratulations! Thank you to @Shauna317 for introducing me to the program and my principal, @allenpbs1914 for the recommendation!

Concluding this week and reflecting with this panel reminded me of a blog I wrote last year - students will rise to our expectations. Regardless. They are resilient, we are resilient. Thank you @wfyi for having me and @TeachPlusIN for the initial connection! #Education #COVID19
Tonight at 6pm I'll be hosting a @wfyi FB Live forum on school reopening w/  @BeechGroveCS Supt Paul Kaiser, @ipsschools chief academic offc Warren Morgan, and teachers @_MissEDUcation_ and RaeAnn Wintin. Join us: facebook.com/events/75705571…

Community is surrounding yourself with likeminded individuals, especially those who are kind ... knowing that you’re not alone is fulfilling, you learn to extend yourself and others grace. The exchange of love and knowledge is the most beautiful feeling. #BirthToPurpose 🦋 💜

Yesssss, seeing my students’ faces and acknowledging that being in school may be their only way out keeps me accountable though. Self care has become so critical lately. Next question ... how are you prioritizing self?

A4: addressing the obvious gaps of access, which leads to opportunity gaps. Ensuring teachers understand where their students live and the lack of resources ... perhaps this will guide us all to more equitable practices #INEdChat
Time for question four already! #INedchat

A3: pushback from other staff and administrators, most times it’s because they don’t want to “ruffle any feathers” ... but my pushback is, “if we don’t do it here and now, when will it ever truly be addressed?” #INEdChat
What hurdles do you have to get over? #INedchat

A2: building community, ensuring comfortability in being themselves. Addressing situations immediately, affirming it’s okay to say I don’t like it, letting the offender know ... teaching such young students, this is a great start to advocacy and agency
How do you keep discourse respectful during classroom discussions? #INedchat
