He should be let go. Fiduciary duty to shareholders commands the board should ask for a review of the decision. There is no possible justification to it, other than Mr Bastian’s personal preferences, and it obviously damages Delta’s reputation and service.
Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastian in new interview on Delta not adopting @Starlink: "We know what we’re doing in the space, and we’ve been the pioneer in Wi-Fi. We set that standard launching free, fast Wi-Fi that forced the industry to adopt it. We’re happy with where we sit." He said he wasn't worried about being at a competitive disadvantage by not having Starlink. Delta said it will adopt Amazon's LEO satellite internet, but won't start installations until 2028. Capital IS a constraint. The enormous value companies like Tesla and SpaceXSI have is actual revenue generation to help fund AI, and products being monetized right now to defray growth expenses - Like leasing SI compute and RoboTaxi.
Is there enough money to support AI's growth, or will a lack of capital deflate the boom long before any "AI bubble" has a chance to burst? As @ericschmidt argues, demand is not the problem. It is enormous. Energy can be bought. Land can be bought. Chips can be bought. The real bottleneck may be capital. If AI infrastructure keeps scaling at this pace, the defining question won’t be whether people want more AI. It will be whether there is enough money to build it.

this is certified f**king gold Andrej Karpathy just showed a cleaner way to build research agents, and it kills the dumbest loop in AI: search → answer → forget → search again he basically turns memory into a real system: raw sources stay raw the agent reads them once turns the useful parts into linked wiki pages then checks the wiki first every time a new question comes in so the loop changes: > question comes in > wiki gets searched first > gaps send the agent back to source material > the answer gets written back into the wiki > the system leaves the next run smarter than the last one that’s the trick the “memory” is not buried in some giant chat transcript anymore it lives in files the agent can actually work with: > pages it can read > links it can follow > notes it can update > gaps it can spot > stale claims it can fix after enough runs, you stop getting one-off answers you get an actual knowledge base that’s why this feels bigger than just “better RAG” a normal research agent can handle 100 questions and leave behind 100 dead chats Karpathy’s setup can handle the same 100 questions and leave behind a research system that compounds the architecture is stupidly simple: > raw/ = source of truth > wiki/ = maintained knowledge > schema = rules for how the whole thing gets updated search still matters it just stops being the whole product that’s the part I’d steal immediately: don’t make the agent remember harder make it write something worth remembering

JUST IN: Former SpaceX engineers raised $100M to build self-driving electric freight trains. Parallel Systems puts batteries and motors directly under shipping containers, letting them move without a traditional locomotive. -Travels up to 500 miles on a charge -Recharges in as little as one hour -Vehicles automatically form and split apart into groups -Works with standard shipping containers -Designed to make shorter rail routes competitive with trucks Parallel is already testing the system across 160 miles of railroad in Georgia.

If one Cybercab is good, logic follows that 3 Cybercabs is better! Proud to say @Tahoe_Flyer and I won the “race”. 🔥🔥🔥
But Tesla’s CyberCab only seats two. . . New night out activity unlocked: CyberCab Caravans. And CyberCab “races”. See who gets there first. (I lost). Or you can just specify a Model Y. With @Kristennetten @marvelwonderkat @_MountainsSea

SPACEX DIRECT TO CELL Cellular executives at the incumbents claim physics bars SpaceX from providing satellite-to-cell service. Elon Musk and SpaceX is calling their bluff. ♦️The 800 MHz spectrum SpaceX just agreed to buy can go through buildings and walls (once the deal is approved by the FCC). ♦️If there is a festival or a World Cup game, SpaceX can provide extra capacity with Starlink Wi-Fi on the roof of the stadium, and phones can use Wi-Fi calling or satellite-to-cell as available. (The exact same way we cover the cell-service dead zones in buildings and sporting events now). ♦️And SpaceX can also cover the areas where there are no expensive cell towers and backhaul. Turns out “physics” doesn’t bar Direct-To-Cell. Who is ready to switch to SpaceX when they can?
Replying to @chamath
To the casual observer, this won’t seem like much. To those who understand the spectrum wars, it’s an earthquake.

SPACEX DIRECT TO CELL This Grain spectrum Purchase is a big deal. A VERY Big Deal. SpaceX just added the final piece of the spectrum puzzle. ♦️SpaceX has been steadily building up the Spectrum needed for Direct to Cell with purchases and auction wins. ♦️First was spectrum that enabled the Internet of Things, ♦️Then SpaceX made multiple moves to enable communication from satellites to Earth and back up. ♦️Now, the final piece: Spectrum that provides a final layer on Earth to go beyond walls. I can’t wait to subscribe.
Replying to @Amy787
Didn’t SpaceX bought some spectrum a few months ago

This bunny is now a fan of FSD. Great job @teslasi team!
Watch FSD save a small bunny on a black road on a black night. (Teslas cameras can make even a pitch black night look bright). Elon Musk said: “The main thing we're trying to solve is making sure that we don't run over pets when they're hard to see at night. Literally trying to avoid grey kittens on grey tarmac in the dark.” FSD IS doing a great job. Tesla will make it better yet - by doing more specific training. LiDAR isn’t necessary. Training, not more sensors, makes FSD recognize and respond even quicker yet to the small animal in the road.
