when i was younger and feeling lost, artistically, spiritually, i dug through my grandfathers things and found his star trek books. WWII vet, loved the original series. TNG seemed more my speed so i started with it. every time an episode like this came along i thought about him.
all of the MLP girlies i’ve seen in recent times have been really well adjusted. my working theory is the brony craze made the girls temper their affections for the ip after witnessing a lot of freakish and just downright obsessive degenerate men in their hobby

To celebrate the landmark, I wanted to post something from ancient times before I even started posting. My process of developing this particular style, my first clumsy attempts at art, up to finally figuring out what I want to draw and how.
1. First ever digital art, not yet MachineInsight01 but trying.
2. One of many illustrations made for my roleplaying group, it was then I really started thinking about illustrating my worlds.
3. When I was preparing to go to art school, (I never received any formal training), to get better, I tried to pick up some skills from art that inspired me back then. Pieces by Albrecht Dürer I was studying pointed me in this drawing direction. This piece is a practice of a skeksis from Dark Crystal.
4. First ever MachineInsight01 piece; to this day I'm proud of it.
There you go, a bit of lore, hopefully not too cringe. I just wanted to show you guys some never-before-seen content. Someone asked me a while back why I started drawing stuff like that and in my particular style, so basically here is the answer.
