Love that this is just never going to be fixed and we as taxpayers are going to have to pay out the inevitable lawsuit damages when someone is injured by this hazard, which is well-known to the city. @StreetsblogNYC @dahvnyc
Oh my god this utility grate is BACK OPEN. What is going on? Can someone in city or state government please help with this? @NYC_DOT @nick_benson @vinbarone @madlabz @CMAlexaAviles @alexaforcouncil @agounardes @Sen_Gounardes Someone is going to get injured riding into this.
Another great @NYCMayor infrastructure fix of low-hanging fruit. After years of failed, half-hearted attempts to fix the pooling issue on the Brooklyn Bridge bike lane, @NYC_DOT regraded the roadway and now it drains. Bon voyage Lakes Gutman, Ydanis, and Polly. cc @StreetsblogNYC
The terrible news about the teenager killed on 14th street reminded me about the motor scooter rider killed by City Hall/the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge bike lane (one of the most surveilled spots in the city). Did we ever get surveillance footage of what happened there?

It’s a Labor Day weekend miracle! Shout out to the @ConEdison social team for escalating this until it was (eventually) fixed.
We do not have civilian control of the NYPD and every day our elected leaders contort themselves into pretzels pretending otherwise. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/09/…
Man, it only took one night of being forced to bike across the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian boardwalk while the bike lane gets paved to remind me how great of an improvement the dedicated bike lane is. Thanks again, @BilldeBlasio @Pollytrott.
Would love someone to ask Tisch about this next time she touts crime stats. Just outright hypocrisy.

Looks like the law Rodneyse and her cronies broke was this one (Election Law 2-106(4)). thecityreporter.nyc/2026/09/…
One of the organizers of today’s rally has repeatedly called the party’s proposed rules changes “an illegal coup.” Is that a figure of speech? What law(s) are being broken? 🤔

even after one of these high-speed stand-up scooters (which go 50 mph faster than the legal limit) caused a death on the Queensboro Bridge, there’s been no uptick in enforcement to keep them out of bike lanes and off narrow crossings like the Brooklyn Bridge. total govt failure.

Transit in New York is just too damn loud.
The seemingly-endless onslaught of announcements not only annoys riders, but impairs accessibility, making navigating transit far more difficult than it needs to be.
ETA's latest report discusses announcements:

We are well into the third (3rd!) month of this @ConEdison utility grate being dangerously open. The response is not to close it, but to block the bike lane w gates. This is embarrassing. Why can’t @NYC_DOT @alexaforcouncil @CMAlexaAviles @agounardes @Sen_Gounardes help fix this?
It speaks volumes about how drivers know NYPD doesn’t enforce traffic laws anymore that they feel comfortable doing shit like this right in front of a precinct and dozens of cop cars. There’s not even the vague notion that there will be consequences for endangering others.

This utility grate outside the @ConEdison facility at 3d Ave. and 29th St. is entering its third month of being open. At this point I can only assume ConEd won’t close it until someone gets seriously injured. Help us @NYC_DOT @CMAlexaAviles @alexaforcouncil.
He's both riding against traffic and wearing headphones, in violation of New York Vehicle and Traffic Law § 375(24), two infractions that would earn him a criminal summons under his own admin. nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/05/…

Can someone from @NYC_DOT @nyc311 @CMAlexaAviles please put pressure on @ConEdison to address this dangerous open utility grate at 29th St. and 3d Ave. in Brooklyn? They refuse to close it despite it being *right outside* their own lot. It’s been open for months.
