ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE WILLIAM HERBERT GRIGSBY CAMPAIGN:
I’ll try to keep it short and sweet, but, I want the World to know that Black Label Detroit has had some of the best performance that it’s ever had in it’s recent history, first with the Detroit Mayoral election, and now with the Gonzo Government announcement.
But, I very recently had a pretty enlightening realization: if I alone were to gain office (the point of the “Gonzo Government” project) what exactly would change? I’d be a loudmouth backbencher that both parties would hate in a 2 party system. Or, as we see with Zohran Mamdani, I’d be a Radical slowly being corrupted by the system that I swore to my supporters that I’d change.
So, with that in mind, I’d like to announce the end of my candidacy for Michigan House district 18 as well as suspend THIS iteration of the Gonzo Government project.
Instead, I’m going to announce that I’m going to make sure that, when I announce the NEXT iteration of the Gonzo Government project, I won’t be relying on me alone winning, pushing politicians that are ideologically opposed to me to “come to the light”, not at all. When I revive the project, I want the Socioecopolitical establishment of Metro Detroit to shit itself because there’d be little to nothing stopping Black Label Detroit from changing Michigan’s politics forever.
I can already hear the critics of this platform now:
“This is pretty lofty talk from someone suspending their campaign out of pure embarrassment”
To that, I’ll end on this, if journalism is currently dying because too many people are using all the “conventional” means to write so that they can get paid, and, the political field is flooded with candidates who promise everything only to deliver the bare minimum, wouldn’t it be pretty fucking stupid of me and the supporters of Black Label Detroit to expect something different from me doing the same?
Word’s really don’t capture how terribly the media in Michigan has dropped the ball in regards to discussing Prop 1. So, literally EVERY establishment political group and random outliers are against it because “it’d take rights away”? And you want ME to think that they’re being honest? PEOPLE, IM BEGGING YOU TO USE YOUR FUCKING BRAIN, THEY THINK YOURE GULLIBLE
I’m pissed I won’t be able to publish Black Label Detroit’s newest report on “modern populism” before the election 😩😔

Detroit demo officials "say they still don't have a 'reliable' projected cost for how much the city may need to spend" to fix hundreds of demo sites potentially filled with toxic dirt," the Detroit News reports ahead of a Friday hearing on the issue: detroitnews.com/story/news/l…
I’m really not trying to be aggressive or confrontational, but, don’t you think that 1K is pretty……. Amateurish? Like, I’m sure we both agree that we want to see the city growing again, but, this whole conversation boils down to how many people should be living in the city
In the next 5 years, Detroit hopes to add 1,000 new homes. For historical context, between 1920-25, Detroit added about 162,000 new homes (mostly due to speculation). With such a large, aging housing stock, new homes are desperately needed. detroiturbanism.blogspot.com…

So far, @BedrockDetroit is just listing off a ton of proposed funds that’s meant to benefit Detroiters, but, it’s bordering on incoherence because it’s promises are predicated on receiving public money instead of the ~$90 million that they suggest will go towards the city

It looks like @BedrockDetroit has packed all of the front row seats with supporters of the project. Not a particularly new tactic for public meetings, but, it’s an apparent “show of force” for those who oppose any deal for Bedrock

Okay, yeah, shut this whole farce down, already. Councilman @DenzMcCampbell was asking completely pertinent and 'decent' questions. If Dan's people are going to act like this, he can do this on his own. A "gift" and you're coming hat-in-hand with an attitude to the city? Bye.

Never thought we'd say this, but thank you Fox News for highlighting that we will not respond to Mike Rogers' campaign anymore because of the repeated lies and bigoted comments. We won't spread hate and falsehoods. foxnews.com/media/michigan-p… #FoxNews
