Congratulations to CPO O’Neill from the City of Edmonton who received the Alberta Association of Chief's of Police Award for Volunteerism for his commitment to the Edmonton ‘stuff a cruiser’ event. We believe this is the 1st CPO in history to receive an award from the AACP.

If you see lights flashing at a railway crossing, you must immediately slow to a stop. Even if it looks like you have time, it’s illegal and is never worth the risk to cross tracks when a train is approaching. #RSW25 #STOPTrackTragedies

Trains run 24/7, 365 days a year, which means any time is train time. There is never a safe moment to be close to the tracks. #RSW25 #STOPTrackTragedies

ABmunis member-municipalities adopted a resolution in 2023 to advocate for @YourAlberta to give Community Peace Officers (CPOs) suffering PTSD the same @WCBAlberta coverage as other police officers. Why? Because 50% of public safety officers have some form of mental health concern. CPOs deserve the same supports for the same issues. @RuralMA @_aacpo

Community Peace Officers encounter trauma in their roles. However, they face barriers when seeking WCB support for PTSD since they’re not considered first responders in legislation. We partnered with @_aacpo & @ABmunis on an infographic highlighting this: rmalberta.com/cpo-ptsd
