Vulgarity so people know he's real and BASED

Smart move by Zuck. The proposition's going to fail. He gets all the goodwill without having to pay in the end.
This is huge. A just-released SEC filing makes an extraordinary revelation: Mark Zuckerberg is getting ready to pay California’s 5% billionaire wealth tax and has signed an agreement to remain in California for 8 years. We are witnessing a global turning point unfold before our eyes. 🧵

She handled the "lawyer or attorney" thing all wrong. Got into the weeds, argued over details whether she said this or that, here or there. She's learned nothing from Trump. The correct response is who cares about semantics - law was never my career.
BREAKING: Katie Zacharia now projected to be removed as WH Press Sec. after Trump reportedly told her “this role may not be for you.” 62% chance she’s ousted this month.

When boxers lose, they get tattoos to prove to themselves that they still have control over their bodies. They think it gives them their power back.
NYP: Rep. Mace said she got nine tattoos in rapid succession to mark the exodus of staffers from her office who badmouthed her to the press and the breakup with her fiancé — among other bad experiences.

I believe it. I know a guy that’s almost a CFO at a big tech company. I see his transaction history on Venmo and he’s always getting paid back for Starbucks and Chipotle.
Friend making $20/hr as a server: “Don't worry, bro, this one's on me, and you'll get the next” Friend making $470k as a senior software engineer: “Can you Venmo me $9.62 for your share of the Uber ride?”

I challenge Chamath to do the Fizz Buzz coding exercise right now. In any language.
As of today, let’s assume 99% of all code written on the internet is still human written and 1% is agentic. That means 99% of code is sloppy and error ridden. Humans make errors that agents don’t. As agentic code replaces human code, both the error rates and security incidences will GO DOWN. There will be new forms of attack vectors by swarms of agents but I would not shut down the internet because of that because companies will have sophisticated swarms of agents to protect them. If everyone uses commercially available open or closed source models, a stalemate is the most likely terminal outcome. That said, the immediate priority is obvious. We need to rewrite all the code in all the enterprises. Period. Non negotiable. So let’s get on with it, close the security holes and flip to a 100% agentic code universe which, still may not make useful or tasteful products, but at least won’t have the errors that humans leave behind as we work.

Ok this goes beyond spin. This is defamation
I’ve had a number of conversations with folks inside and outside government about the current situation with Anthropic, and here is what I believe to be true: — As we know, Anthropic publicly released its Mythos class models earlier this week under the commercial name Fable. — Fable is Mythos with guardrails. But if those guardrails fail, then you’ve exposed Mythos and its advanced cyber capabilities to people who shouldn’t have them. (Keep in mind that Anthropic itself widely promoted the idea that Mythos was a cyberweapon and needed to be regulated as such. They asked for government regulation of Mythos and championed the guardrails on Fable. If there is a vulnerability — big or small — it is Anthropic’s responsibility to patch.) — A highly credible trusted partner of both Anthropic and the USG who was testing Fable came forward with a jailbreak of those guardrails. The Admin asked Dario to fix the jailbreak or de-deploy the model. Dario refused. — In their blog post, Anthropic defended its decision by saying the jailbreak isn’t serious. That is not what the trusted partner and the USG believe; nor is that kind of minimizing language consistent with Anthropic’s brand as the AI safety company. It’s difficult to fathom how they could claim a jailbreak allowing operability of a cyber weapon could be defined as not “serious.” — In the past, Anthropic has always said that safety must be top priority and taken super seriously. In this case, Anthropic prioritized the continued offering of the consumer model over safety. — In reaction, the Admin issued the export control. The Admin did this reluctantly. It’s been very surprised that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to cooperate with a reasonable safety request (ie fixing the jailbreak issue). Anthropic’s reaction is very much at odds with their branding and ethos as a safe AI research community. — The Admin’s hope now is that Anthropic remediates the safety issue, the export control is lifted, and Fable goes back into general release. The Admin wants all of this to happen as soon as possible. It is frankly bewildered that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to comply with safety requests that it previously said were its highest priority. — Those trying to misdirect and tie this action to the prior DoW/Anthropic issues are wrong. The Admin values Anthropic’s technical capabilities and feels that this issue, while serious, should be easily resolved. The ball is in Anthropic’s court.

Windows requiring a Microsoft account makes you feel like a product and that you should expect constant upselling - from the second you first turn on your new computer.
BREAKING: Microsoft could drop the requirement for a Microsoft account to use Windows 11. This move is being explored internally as part of the company’s efforts to win back Windows 11 users. A future Windows 11 update will also make the OOBE (out-of-box-experience) UX "quieter and more streamlined," with fewer pages and reboots, so getting started is simpler. Microsoft has committed to faster OS performance, a reduced memory footprint, a faster File Explorer, fewer web-based UI elements in the OS, and even the ability to pause updates for as long as you want. Microsoft is also scaling back Copilot in Windows 11, and it will only add AI to places and apps where it adds real value.

Anyone remember who was the guy (Asian, I think) that was paid a million a year by a legacy tech company like AOL or Yahoo to be a tech futurist? He wore big colorful glasses and just wrote some message like once a year which everyone ignored. Everyone wondered why he had a job

Most errors detected from automated scans are ticky-tacky and don't prevent someone from using the site yet "drive-by" accessibility lawsuits arise exclusively from these scan's results. Therefore, clearing automated errors is the easiest (not best!) way to reduce legal risk.

Typical California Political Playbook: Give privileged treatment to the wealthiest citizens then justify and provide political cover for it by setting a requirement of some benefit for the homeless. Then never do the benefit for the homeless.
BREAKING - California’s new bill SB549 to purchase fire-damaged properties is far worse than expected as it forces California taxpayers, including Palisades residents through their property taxes, to fund the buyout, requires 40% of new housing to be for the homeless, overrides community input, and allows rezoning without approval.

Don't people know already. The best PR strategy is to just ignore it and tweet through it. Huberman style.
