As a first proof-of-concept, we have successfully synthesized formally-verified solvers for advection, hydrodynamic (Euler), and electromagnetic (Maxwell) equations, at various levels of accuracy and stability. Some of the correctness proofs are tens of thousands of lines! (9/10)

Unironically, yes. Nearly every health discovery was by amateurs. Microplastics were hit decades ago by bodybuilders who said, “use glass Tupperware.” TRT used when doctors said it was dangerous. Creatine. Peptides. None of this was from Covid pushing vaccinationatists.

Deorbiting the ISS would be a terrible, irreversible mistake for humanity. We should decommission it ASAP, then boost it up into MEO so it orbits forever as a monument of the Space Exploration Age.

We discovered a surprising, training-free way to generate images: no GANs or diffusion models, but a ✨secret third thing✨! Standard models like CLIP can already create images directly, with zero training. We just needed to find the right key to unlock this ability = DAS 1/11

A very important and symbolic detail is that the DOGE wiz kid who deciphered the scroll didn't come from MIT or Harvard et al. but graduated from the University of Nebraska

1. The bill would ban the import of AI "technology or intellectual property" developed in the PRC. Conceivably, that would include downloading @deepseek_ai R1 / V3 weights. Penalty: up to 20 years imprisonment.

🚨UFO SWARM “UNTOUCHED” BY MISSILES OUTSIDE MILITARY BASE?!? A 10-minute video posted on Reddit claims to show UFOs near an Afghanistan military base, appearing to withstand a missile strike without damage. Glowing orbs were hovering and moving together in unusual patterns — but some skeptics say these “UFOs” may simply be flares or training targets, despite the video’s eerie visuals. Viewers are split, with many sharing their own unexplained sightings while others caution against jumping to conclusions. Source: Daily Mail

Fun fact: “la sombrita” and starship took about the same amount of time.
democrats put enormous amounts of money into infrastructure investments like CHIPS and IRA but voters didn’t see any of it because Democrats are just totally unwilling to confront, or even mention, the process ghouls that strangle everything in red tape

Texas for some ungodly reason is considering a law that would make plumbers, electricians, lawyers, and countless other small businesses file “algorithmic impact assessments” for a huge range of AI uses. As I’ve written before, this is among the worst ways to do AI policy.
Breaking AI news: A troubling new AI regulatory bill has been floated in Texas that borrows from the same heavy-handed, EU-like policy model that we saw implemented in Colorado, and which almost passed in Connecticut. Rightly called a “sweeping” measure in the attached article, this Texas draft legislation rejects the freedom to innovate with AI and instead treats algorithmic entrepreneurs as guilty-until-proven-innocent under a fear-based model of anticipatory regulation. A new “Artificial Intelligence Council” will sit in judgment of which types of AI products are “in the public interest,” and layers of new top-down compliance requirements will be imposed before new innovation and investment can happen. I’ll have more analysis of this highly problematic bill coming shortly. This is the wrong approach for Texas and for America. The freedom to code, compute, and innovate is at risk because of the growing patchwork of hundreds of misguided AI regulatory proposals like this one from Texas. Why are we trying to shoot ourselves in the foot as China and other nations race to catch up with us?? pluribusnews.com/news-and-ev…

👀 The term "Immaculate Constellation" is rarely searched for on Google. Almost never. Of course, searches for it skyrocketed today. But there was one other time it also displayed a large blip: June 2023. Just as the modern UAP crash retrieval story broke, David Grusch went public, and hearings were planned. #ufoX
