@github Copilot in the cloud is now one connected experience across the web, mobile app, CLI, VSCode, and the Copilot app. It has more tools, connectors, and faster compute to help you get more done. github.blog/changelog/2026-1…

Scaling cloud agents 10x in the middle of a conf —> now this rocks
Not a flashy announcement, but today we rolled out some new platform foundations for Copilot running agents to everyone right as Datadog had a big incident, and it all went off without a hitch. Very excited to scale agents in the cloud further and further

Who out there is using Agent Substrate? Love the idea behind it, curious who’s been running production workloads on it

All of his stuff is a big messy integration play that doesn't work. Example: I've used Monarch for a few years. They have an MCP and a guide for how to use it. My checking account and investment account providers aren't compatible with the MCP. So I can't use it.
Biggest issue using personal agents is login stability for me. Finances analyzer/optimizer is a great example: every week one of my account logins breaks despite supposedly being stable via Plaid. Super annoying

So anyways, I can connect other assistants to my finance accounts through Plaid, so I don't need Monarch. Well, except for the whole "Fidelity can't log in right now" errors I hit (not jus with Fidelity), or how I had to re-sync when I rolled over a 401k, ec.

When I'm at work, I'm at least getting paid to fuck around with all of this stuff, so I'll do it. And there may be a productivity enhancement to eek out as a result. But not for my personal world, not yet at least

This might be one of the funniest (bad) computer jokes of all time
a trusted intermediate CA just "leaked" (the private key was 4)

Hot tip, if you want to tokenmax and make agent turns take longer, put some formal verification in your inner agent loop

I don’t think personal software will kill OSS and I think it’s very overrated. It’s super fun to jangle the keys in front of your own face and vibe code up a copy of something else that exists in this world. But truly owning it, operating it, having a vision for it kinda sucks! OSS still wins out on the a value proposition that it’s free and you can shunt those concerns off to someone else. The talking computers don’t actually know exactly what individual people want and most people don’t feel like just living with whatever an agent confabulated as a design and architecture. The future for OSS probably involves a token market where you can yield some tokens to allow a maintainer group make the right decisions for you.
