I have known Julius since his final year at Legon Business School. During my election period, he presided over the court case that arose when my running mate was disqualified (he was doing his LLB and was in Jubilee Hall) . In fact, I also knew Father Anthony Julius during his days in NUGS, as I served as a committee member.
I have known Kwesi for some years, and I have had the opportunity to work with him on various projects as well. I have also sat in meetings with Kwesi so many times and, how he intellectually deals with issues from different angles.
Honestly, if you think one is more intelligent than the other, perhaps you haven’t had the opportunity to engage with both of them closely. They are both intelligent in their own unique ways. They have different approaches to issues, distinct perspectives, and different ways of handling challenges. These differences do not make one superior to the other; rather, they reflect their individual strengths and abilities.
As young people, we should refrain from this kind of banter simply because of our political loyalties. We can support different people and hold different opinions without undermining one another. Let us learn to appreciate people for their individual strengths, respect their differences, and engage in healthy conversations without turning everything into unnecessary competition.
Political loyalty should never make us blind to the abilities and contributions of others.
