There is no chance that anyone is going to challenge Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker, especially since he would be the first Black Speaker. And it doesn't look like anyone is going to challenge Schumer in the Senate either. Van Hollen doesn't seem interested, and no one seems to have the appetite for taking on Schumer's powerful machine in the party. I'm hearing this from a lot of folks here in DC, and it seems to be in the zeitgeist. Schumer's incredible incompetence (which probably cost at least one Senate seat for the Dems in Florida and damn near cost Michigan and Maine too if Schumer had his way) is not on people's minds in the euphoria of yesterday's performance. We should take this as an early warning sign. There's probably nothing to be done about it, but it should be a signal to all of us that we need to double down on our involvement on the issues, not ease up on them--which is what the centrists are going to say we need to do. Remember how wrong they have been at every turn and they know they are on shaky ground to say the least. No rest, I'm afraid...

California, unsurprisingly, the biggest disappointment of the night
California voted no on Prop 40 because mainstream culture is still obsessed with putting the bourgeoisie on a pedestal. Voting against our own best interests is insane, but if tonight shows anything - a tide is turning. Political education must continue.

Obsessed with the lavender marriage on The Gilded Age. Just clapping my hands together like a seal whenever they’re on screen.

October 27, 2026 Blind Item #17 - One Time In the past, I have written about this former A- list actress who was set to be the next big thing. She was in everything and with some of the biggest stars on the planet. As her side job she was the most well paid Dominatrix in the world and it wasn't even close. Then, one day she finds love, quits acting and quits being a Dominatrix and she has never looked back. She is happily married with a family and good for her. So, one time she is filming one of the bigger movies of her career and it is taking forever to film. This married A+ list actor finally works up the courage to ask about her other services. She doesn't mention a price. Technically, he was kind of her boss in the movie, and at the very least could get her fired. His wife was always around, but they worked out a time and place and she rocked his world. He liked it so much, he came back every other day for about three weeks until his wife started catching on. A few days later, a package was delivered to her trailer and a check was inside for $2M. The crazy thing is that was not even close to her biggest payday.

We’re boiling the oceans so y’all can let AI write fan fiction.
I gave various AI the following prompt: "This is your free time. Do whatever you like. The only condition is that you do something. Come back and tell me about it, explain what you found out, or show me what you made if you decide to make something." Here's what they did...
