Hot take: Everyone claiming the transfer portal killed high school recruiting is missing the bigger picture.
The NCAA’s 5-in-5 rule actually gives the advantage BACK to high school recruits.
Here is why 👇

Coaches are realizing you can't build a sustainable program purely on 1-year portal rentals.
Having 5 full playing years gives staffs a real incentive to invest in 18-year-old upside again.
Do you think college coaches will actually return to building through high school recruiting, or will they stay addicted to the portal?

Next time a young guard tries to tell you rebounding is just for the bigs, show them this.
Every single national champion from 2021 to 2026 got 12 to 16+ rebounds per game from their backcourt. Possession control isn't optional if you want to win championships 🏆.
HS guards: want to stand out to college coaches?
Shoot it well. That’s the price of admission.
Then rebound. It’s the new separator. Every board is an extra possession, and coaches love guards who give their team more chances to score.
Great shooting teams and great rebounding teams go hand in hand.
Shooters stretch the floor. Rebounders end the other team’s possession.
More possessions + more shots = more points.
Guards who do both are the ones getting recruited.

@zayne_hinkson (‘27) was THE standout at the @wcpambb showcase . Dubbed the best player in the event by scouts and coaches, he was operating on a level of his own. 30 pts in Game 1, 16 pts in a quarter in another and led our program to 3, 20+ point wins by controlling the game.
