There’s a lot to say, and as always, I’ll try to keep it nuanced and kind.
First things first: I love Nut and Hong dearly. I’ve been here for two years, and I’ve supported them every step of the way, in everything they’ve done together and apart. I love them as people and as artists, first and foremost. I believe they’re good people, and they have only ever shown kindness and warmth to the queer community. I believe in equity and fairness, and I will never ask anyone to disclose their identity or prove their queerness. I also don’t believe you need to be queer to portray queer characters.
That being said, if you choose to portray queer characters, I need you to commit to them. If you take on queer roles, especially characters who are canonically in love, you can’t erase that part of their story. Way and Night may not be together in 21, but the romantic subtext is clearly there: Way’s jealousy of Ai, the heavy flirting, Night already being in love with Way. I’m not saying any of this will be erased in 21. The show isn’t out and hasn’t even started filming, so we have no idea what it will become. And that’s part of the problem. It’s the same problem we’ve been living with for the past year.
The uncertainty, the “will they, won’t they,” is what has brought us here: tearing each other apart over bromance debates, with accusations flying in both directions.

my final comment about this unless something else happens is that none of my tweets today were to attack or hate on nh. they’ve been the reason for my happiness for the past 2 years, the last thing i want is for them to get hate instead of valid criticism

platonic soulmates are great for as long as you don't imply any ambiguous romantic implications. my issue lies with how gmmtv moves, promoting fixed bromance pairs the exact same way bl cps are promoted. that in itself is still queerbaiting and this show is an avenue for it.

nut and hong are literally the MAIN LEADS, they were standing in the middle there, lukemick are the side couple, which just makes it WORSE. they're giving the main roles for nut and hong and making it official as a bromance while leaving the bl cp with the side roles.
as i said in other tweets, this is clearly a queer story and nothing will change that, this is a fact. period. but making the main leads a bromance cp is even ironic in this case and makes their entire journey throughout the series meaningless.
if they can't do it, then just don't do it. that's fine, i promise you no one would've said anything if they didn't stand there together. but i'm a lesbian, i'm part of the lgbtq community, i won't be here hyping them up as a bromance cp just bc i love them. nothing will change the fact that i do love them and i'll always be here for lykn and for nut and hong as idols, and hong will always be my main in tpop, but going down the bromance path as actors will only do them harm, it's better to act alone in other series just like lego and tui, that's the point here.
you guys think you're better fans for blindly supporting this, but you're the ones who actually don't care about their careers as actors if you GENUINELY think anything good can come from being a bromance cp. look at the hashtag trending asking gmmtv to STOP this bromance shit, people are gonna call them QUEERBAITERS, half of their fandom are queer people, they're gonna get hate EVERY SINGLE DAY, is it worth it? is that what u really wanna support for their acting career? doing something that is seen as a censorship of lgbtq people?

La serie è BL, un BL bellissimo tra l’altro. La coppia sono Luke e Mick in un ruolo incredibile. Hong e Nut saranno due amici che si vogliono un gran bene. Questa serie parla chiaramente di amore, diversi tipi di amore e rapporti, tra difficoltà, ostacoli, gioie, dolori e decisioni.
È VITA VERA.
E nella vita vera si possono amare anche gli amici.
E Nut e Hong hanno TUTTO il diritto di recitare nel ruolo di che cazzo vogliono senza sentirsi dire che hanno deluso.
Anche perché saranno protagonisti di un BL, quindi sostengono eccome. E il fatto che secondo me non esiste MEZZO hint di romantico tra loro, mi fa capire come questa storia vuole rispettare, non insultare, senza sfociare nella bromance queerbating, genere che in Thailandia non dovrebbe esistere. Il fatto che nella storia saranno amici, non li rende irrispettosi. Sono attori in quel frangente. Imparate a capirlo.
