When @smehmood first demo’ed Niteshift to us, I didn’t get it at first. But just like with Modal, @_amankishore immediately saw where the future was headed. I couldn’t be more excited for Aman and the Niteshift team to take us from the age of farming to the age of research.
I was the first DAU of Niteshift. Over the last year it became clear that Niteshift is building the future of engineering. I’m excited to join the mission and work with the most ambitious companies. If you want to help define the future, let's chat!

How far will the student with this strategy make it?
Announcing No Limit: a bot building tournament hosted by @Sequoia, @citsecurities and @OpenAI. Teams of 1 or 2 get 60 minutes to build a pokerbot from scratch. Agents play thousands of games across six scored rounds. Open to university students and recent grads (‘25 or ‘26). Regionals in Boston, Pittsburgh and the Bay Area in early November. Top five teams from each fly to the Finals. $100K grand prize.

We’re betting our $5.5M seed round that the next leap in AI coding won’t come from OpenAI or Anthropic. It’ll come from a new feedback loop that learns from you. Introducing Beacon: open-source, self-improving memory for coding agents. Your sessions capture how you debug and solve problems. Today, that context gets lost and you have to re-explain things every time you switch tools. Beacon continuously distills your sessions into reusable skills across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and 20+ harnesses, so your next agent can learn from the last. Beacon is free and OSS 🌟 github.com/Asymptote-Labs/ag… Why should the frontier labs be the only ones winning with your sessions? You already did the work. Now let your coding agents learn from you.

This team has cooked up something incredible! If you're working on improving knowledge work, try it out!!
We are releasing Ultramarine 1 Flash, a frontier-class model built for knowledge work. It is open-source and achieves similar performance to Fable 5, while being 60x cheaper. It was post-trained by a team of 5 for ~$300k all-in. Available on API now, with weights releasing in 2 weeks.

I had fun visualizing what home robots might look like! Pan around and interact with some of the appliances / objects at brownie.bot Let me know if you'd like to see more environments or real robots (like Matic, Sunday, or 1X) roaming around. I would love to make this simulation as accurate as possible

Wonderful levels of creativity
Create and play mashups with friends in one click. Introducing Melty!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Melty doesn't make the mashups it shows. Its Terms (§1, §6) say mashups come from outside creators, aren't reviewed or scanned for malware, and run with full access to your PC. The Minecraft-in-Elden-Ring mod is by Tobyn Jacobs. melty.gg/terms tweaktown.com/news/113855/ x.com/Wubbity/status…

An exceptional opportunity to work with Umesh, one of the best operators I know
I'm hiring for our Talent Engineering team at @spacexai! Looking for people who love working with exceptional humans as much as (or more than) building product. A few things that we look for: 1) You’re an engineer who can build things to get the job done, being able to 80/20 most things. 2) You care about people and you've been making intros, supporting founders, and bringing great people together for years, without calling it a job. Your skillset aligns with that of a VC (and you might be one someday!) 3) You’re naturally magnetic in communities. People take your calls because you genuinely love to help and care about them! 4) You don’t wait to be told what to do, you've been a go-getter and can get shit done. If any of these resonate and you want to be a critical part to the inner workings of a frontier lab, then I'd love to meet! 👋 Warm intros through a mutual otherwise feel free to email me at [email protected]!

Your agents will be much happier when you use @paperinstr 📄
Agents are using legacy Python packages to edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, hitting API gaps, dropping into raw OOXML, and creating silent corruptions. We fix that today with OSS Paper Office:

OpenAI has had a vacant Chief Communications Officer role for 9 months. Jill Hazelbaker was eyed for it but is staying put at Uber. Kelly Sims from Thrive, OpenAI’s top investor, has been helping fill the void (and she’s hard to top!) @EmilyForlini with the scoop for @FortuneMagazine fortune.com/2026/09/23/opena…

The only thing @Neko Health needs to do is care a bit more than the average doctor I'm much too excited for Neko to open in NYC and get off the waitlist. An easy opportunity to delight patients with a delta 4 customer experience

"How could a man be a cynic? It is a sin." - Norm Macdonald It's unfortunate that technological progress often gets conflated with greed or power. I can only hope that the amount of GOOD technology will do over the coming years will surmount the current negativity
Through the VOICE trial, Terry is using his Neuralink implant to help fine-tune a brain-to-voice interface for himself and others who can’t speak. He trained the algorithm first by miming speech as best he could, then by simply thinking the words and hearing them come out in his own natural voice. Powered by Grok Voice from @spacexai

You won't like what I have to say here...
I'll immediately pay $1,000 for this kind of hardware The interface would be full-duplex voice, with two layers of agents: 1. An orchestrator with persistent memory across all my context (Slack, Linear, Notion, Email, etc). Orchestrates my subagents 2. Specialized subagents, each with the context and tools needed to handle a specific task. Can control a browser running in a cloud VM. So basically a grok bot with a voice first interface, as a thin client (essentially a small Linux machine running an agent like Codex or Claude Code. Model inference happens in the cloud, while the agent can execute code and use tools locally or on a remote VM, so the device itself doesn’t need powerful hardware)
