The resentment goes both ways. The newly affluent class have adopted the attitudes of colonizers. They too, think that poor people are poor by choice & they do not deserve any service delivery. They also forgot that social programs played a major role in their newly found success
You’re right that the poor don’t often share leftists’ politics, but these elections aren’t a good case study because the reason the DA is winning is because the poor as well as people in townships in general simply didn’t come out to vote lol
