The desert was the perfect place to shoot a pair of UFOs.
Very strong contender for brown car of the day?

There’s a window cut into the side of the case so you can watch the hairspring “breathe”.
That hairspring is cylindrical, something almost nobody attempts outside of in a tourbillon, because standing the spring upright makes it misbehave in the flat positions. Berthoud sent it to COSC anyway, and it came back as the only mechanical movement with a cylindrical hairspring ever to pass.
Getting there took two more years of regulating after the movement was already finished. Both terminal curves are formed by hand and checked at twenty times magnification.
There’s no dial. The mainplate sits in the middle of the movement rather than behind a dial, with six bridges in front of it and ten behind, so the thing you read the time off is the mechanism itself.
It isn’t a limited edition, but the workshop in Fleurier simply cannot build more than 25 of them in a year.
The round case is a tribute. It comes from a decimal watch Louis Berthoud made in 1793, which the company owns and keeps at Fleurier.

Lewis Hamilton is clearly unimpressed by the racing with Charles Leclerc today:
"We'll take it offline and figure out what we can do in the background.
"In the drivers' briefing, we discussed that as soon as you go off in Turn 1, you have to give the position back.
"Obviously, last year I got a 10-second penalty for that - the same move that he did, and so...
"But ultimately, it was that that lost us the win today, and I think we have to have some serious talks behind the scenes for sure." #F1 #MexicoGP

#MexicoGP 🇲🇽 | Lewis Hamilton post qualifying:
“It’s an amazing feeling. Firstly, big big thank you to my family. I really wouldn’t be here without them. I texted my mum today at 11:11, got the tattoo here, it’s her birthday, and everytime I see 11:11 on my phone it reminds me that I’ve got to text her.”
“I came in this weekend with a different approach. Came here on Wednesday, which I never ever do. But we really wanted to look at where we’ve been the last few races, where it’s gone wrong, where we can improve and I think we changed, we made a small tweak to how we work this weekend.”
“I really felt, all weekend, that we had the possibility to be at the front. Today we looked at everything, wind direction, track temperature dropping through the session and what that means to settings you need to get the tyres working etc…”
“But to get the pole finally get a pole with Ferrari, it just takes me back to when I was a kid watching Michael get those poles and thinking how cool would it be to do that?”
