Lula’s rise is stirring tale of a man who only became literate at the age of ten, never finished secondary school, and climbed from skilled metalworker and union leader to four-term president. Yet the same man has held remarkably simplistic and disturbingly misinformed political opinions. In 1979 he named among his most admired historical figures Gandhi, Che Guevara, Mao Zedong, Fidel Castro, the Ayatollah Khomeini and Adolf Hitler, citing the last for his “determination.” He supported the Castro regime and, for a time, Chávez and Maduro. He gave a pass to the industrial-scale drug-smuggling routes into the United States. He bought into the left’s championship of extreme environmental views and made himself the chief spokesperson for the unutterable nonsense that Americans must pay billions in compensation for Amazon deforestation. He has clambered aboard almost any passing anti-American bandwagon joining BRICS and championing the Chinese currency while falling for the blood libel that Israel’s response to the Hamas massacre was genocidal. His verbal coziness with the criminal regime in Iran has been an unmitigated disgrace and is, in all respects, un-Brazilian. Foreign policy under Lula has been a succession of ludicrous posturing and farcical attempts, with the presidents of Turkey and Iran, to resolve complex problems that had nothing to do with Brazil. Brazil is one of the world’s most important countries and there is still room to hope that Lula's last turn will bring mature and well-considered policies. He should start by pardoning Jair Bolsonaro.

It’s what triggered my awakening to the absolute corrupt idiocy of our governments.
Agree 💯 people aren’t stupid. 66% would vote to unwind @AlboMP ’s CGT and negative gearing changes (18% on that alone). The world’s highest effective CGT rate was never going to fly with ordinary Australians who want to build wealth. Time to wake up @AlboMP

66% of people would vote for any party that would reverse Labor’s CGT and negative gearing changes, with 18% saying they’d vote on this one issue alone. People aren’t stupid, they know world’s highest cgt at 70% is a dog.

this is like Labor politicians claiming travel expenses. When challenged they say they're within the rules and no law has been broken.
Muslims claim that they hate Halloween & it goes against their religion but they are happy to steal all of the Halloween candy from young children celebrating Halloween 🎃

The Labor party has established a $386 million slush fund under it's multiculturalism grants program. 94% of the grants last year went to labor seats. $45 million went to Tony Burke's electorates alone. What's the departments response to this obvious pork barreling? "They're election commitments" It's not good enough. Australians are sleeping on the street and these are the rorts this government is spending your money on.

I hate chaos erupting
Chaos erupted at a Florida trampoline park after hundreds of teens swarmed the venue in a TikTok-fueled “takeover.” Police arrested eight people as the massive gathering spiraled out of control.

Road maintenance. Interesting. CA makes about $9B annually with the nation’s highest gas tax. That money is for road maintenance. But somehow we have the worst roads. Potholes on the streets, and more dangerously, on the freeways; roads that haven’t been repaved for decades; raised ridges in the road from old and uneven asphalt; etc. Obviously this $9B is not being spent on road maintenance. It is being stolen. Additionally, you have the CA state campaign to get everyone in an EV car, without considering the reduction in people paying the gas tax. Their solution: this mileage tax. Just for the EVs? Oh no, for everyone. For the gas tax payers and also the EV drivers. All because they need that money that does NOT go to road maintenance, to stay at $9B annually. Thieves.
A mileage tax in California? Xavier Becerra says he would consider it, "everything should be on the table" to maintain roads and bridges. "Do I want to tax people more than necessary? No.. Should people who drive EVs who don't need gas pay for those roads? Absolutely."

Since Tommy Robinson exposed the industrial scale of the rape of underage girls in Rotherham and elsewhere by organised gangs that went unpunished for fear of cries of racism, he has been pilloried, bashed, banished and jailed. Any wonder why Australia doesn't have a Tommy Robinson?

The French police are finally making arrests over the invasion of the UK. FYI they've just arrested those documenting it. Not invaders, not traffickers, those exposing it. Europe is fucked.
ADMIN POST - Ay and his team have been arrested by armed French police, handcuffed, and taken to the police station. @danwootton @TRobinsonNewEra @thenowherephoto @daveatherton

a female comedian whose name is "woke"... I am shitting myself with excitement about that one
“Every possible -ism and -phobia and moral impropriety has been ascribed to me since I began my largely pro-bono career as an internet girl,” writes Ivy Wolk. In a new essay, the 22-year-old comedian and actor reflects on the way her dark thoughts about her own self-image are interpreted as “soulless edgelord fare” — and all the times she’s been canceled since she started posting her comedy online as a teen, including when children once decided en masse that she was a “whorish foil” to a famous friend of hers. “As much as I wish for anonymity or a slate wipe sometimes, I am grateful for the perspective I’ve aggregated and the ways in which I have been challenged never to abandon my beliefs and my unbounding love for other people,” Wolk writes. “It cannot harden me, it cannot isolate me from community, and it cannot remove me from public life.” Read the full essay: nymag.visitlink.me/yANP5M
